The man known as Zero Raven, was born Zero Blakk on the desert world of Korriban. Zero's parents were archeologists whose speciality was Sith artifacts. It was during one expedition to Korriban the Zero was born. In a holo-log from his father, it was reported that at the time of Zero's birth there was the sound of weeping from the tombs of the sith lords.

When Zero was 15, he had already established himself as a great pilot, and was generally the pilot of his families Action VI transport during their expeditions.

It was around that time that Zero's life was changed forever. While in orbit of the temperate world of Atzerri his families ship was attacked and boarded by a group of mercenaries flying the flag of the "Black Sun". When his mother was taken hostage his father attempted to intercede and was shot with a blaster. Zero froze in a panic, unable to act. After returning to their on ship, the pirates fired, disabling the vessel and causing a catastrophic hull breach. Zero's mother was killed in the explosion. Zero himself managed to reach and escape pod.
