Torquemada was the leader of Tarentum as it transitioned from House into a Clan; making him the Third, and last, Quaestor of House Tarentum and the First Consul of Clan Tarentum. During the reign of Torquemada, Tarentum once again held high honors within the Brotherhood as House Gladius and House Tridens were named First and Second Houses of the Brotherhood respectively.
Torquemada eventually resigned as Consul and was replaced by Shadow. He later took a post as Aedile of House Tridens under Archibald Zoraan, where he rallied the members of the Krath Order. Torquemada left House Tridens to become a member of House Gladius after Grand Master Justinian Khyron decreed that each Clan would have three houses with a single, uniform order.
However, Zoraan and Torquemada had formed a strong team as the Tridens Summit, a fact recognized by Zoraan in his rise to power. When Zoraan would go on to claim the Iron Throne, he would have no other than Torquemada to be his Deputy Grand Master.
