Rival was the only picket ship to serve with the Eighth Fleet following the events of the Eighth Great Jedi War. Built at the Kuat Drive Yards facility at Xa Fel in the Kanchen Sector, Rival was completed in 22 ABY. During the Ninth Great Jedi War, the Rival was destroyed in a trap set by Omancor Crask. The destruction of the Rival gave the Nightfall advanced warning, and evasive maneuvers were set in motion by Dark Brotherhood.
Role
The picket Rival was employed by the Eighth Fleet's Task Force 63 as a reconnaissance vessel. As part of the Forsaken Strike Group, Rival would scout ahead of the main force to warn of impending threats.
