Officer Training
At the age of 17, Venix enrolled himself in the Imperial Academy on Coruscant, which was also known as the Coruscanti Pilot School. After two years of extensive pilot training he graduated from the Academy with honors and was offered the chance to join the Carida Academy for further training as an officer. Venix once again proved himself to be an excellent student and managed to advance far ahead of the rest of his class, scoring perfect marks in both written and practical exams. Unfortunately, as the civil war was becoming more devastating to the Empire, top recruits were withdrawn from the school and transferred to an unknown location in the Outer Rim to complete their training unfettered by Alliance attacks.
It was early in 4 ABY when Venix stepped off his shuttle onto the platform, Daedalus, where the remainder of his training awaited him. However, not longer after the Empire lost the Battle of Endor, the TIE Corps splintered off from Imperial control and created its own organization - the Emperor's Hammer. Though dismayed at the Empire's loss, Venix decided to stay with the TIE Corps, as he had found a home amongst the impeccably trained officers and soldiers there. Under the rigorous instruction of top Imperial instructors, Venix graduated top of his class, and was immediately promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. His first assignment was as Squad Leader aboard the Super-class Star Destroyer Avenger. An impressive assignment for a newly graduated recruit, and one that would lead him to his future as an officer in the Taldryan Navy.
Taldryan
In 20 ABY, when Kir Taldrya Katarn founded the Taldryan-operated military Academy known as the Taldryan Military Institute, he also reorganized the Clan's military system, which had once relied heavily on the old Imperial ranks. Under the new system, Venix rose in rank Read Admiral and took command of the Clan's flagship, the Victory I-class Star Destroyer Dark Prophet.
During the Fifth Great Jedi War, the Rear Admiral's loyalty to Taldryan was put to the ultimate test, as a force-based infection was spreading throughout the Brotherhood pitting clan member against clan member. Though the Clan's leadership was in utter chaos, Venix pulled together the Taldryan fleet with the aid of the uninfected Jedi, led by Sharad Taldrya Hett, and helped restore order to the Brotherhood. For his valor and dedication, Venix was promoted to the rank of High Admiral, and given command of the entire fleet in 22 ABY, making him the first non-Jedi Fleet Commander.
After five years of successfully commanding Taldryan's forces to victory, through feuds, Rites of Supremacy, and even Great Jedi Wars, Venix at last met his end during the initial Vong strike against the Brotherhood in early 27 ABY. During the opening attack, Venix was aboard the Dark Prophet attempting to ward off the invaders so as to allow other vessels a chance to escape into the Shroud. While others attempted to escape the heavily engaged Destroyer, Venix remained on the command deck issuing orders to the few remaining officers on board. High Admiral Venix Soyak perished aboard his ship in 27 ABY.
