| Defensively, the Bothan Assault Cruiser is a vast improvement to the Victory-class Star Destroyers it was intended to replace. Both armor and shields on the cruisers were 150 percent heavier than on the Victory-class, although in battle when primary power is focused on weapons, the cruisers can be more open to heavy attacks.

| This Bothan Assault Cruiser is named in honor of those who were lost during the Yuuzhan Vong Incursion. It takes its name from the former flagship and fallen Victory-class Star Destroyer the Dark Prophet. The Dark Prophet II came into the possession of Clan Taldryan during the Fleet Modernization Act and it is the lead ship of Battlegroup Vigilance.
