| The [[starwars:Bothan Assault Cruiser|Bothan Assault Cruiser]] was developed by the Bothan military and employed by the [[starwars:New Republic Defense Fleet|New Republic Defense Fleet]] shortly before the [[starwars:Yuuzhan Vong|Yuuzhan Vong]] invasion in 25 ABY. The 850 meter ship had a reasonably low crew requirement, 5,000 metric tons of cargo space, and two years worth of consumables. These ships were made to fill the role occupied by the aging [[starwars:Victory I-class Star Destroyer|Victory I-class Star Destroyer]].
