"Many underestimate me because of my appearance and I always use that to my advantage."
―Wenet C. Bannog

Wenet C. Bannog is a female Kushiban from the planet Kushibah. She was forced to grow up quickly when she lost both her parents. She took care of her younger siblings until they were old enough to care for themselves. Unlike most of her kind, Wenet always dreamed about leaving Kushibah so when the opportunity presented itself, she left and joined a crew of smugglers. During her travels she heard about the Dark Jedi Brotherhood and decided to seek them out.

Biography

Early Life

"There is more to life than farming Silkweed, there's a whole galaxy out there "
―Wenet C. Bannog to her parents

Wenet was born in the valley of Caerbannog on the Outer Rim world of Kushibah. Like many other of her kind, her family were Silkweed farmers and weavers. None of them were ever interested in leaving their simple life on Kushibah, except for Wenet. Wenet dreamed about traveling the galaxy and even made plans to leave but an unfortunate incident changed everything.

One day when Wenet was six years of age, their farm was attacked by a pack Xinkras. After bringing their children to safety, her parents tried to defend their home but there were too many. Wenet witnessed her parents being taken by the predators. Although at the time she didn't realize it, it was then that she used the Force for the first time, by channeling it to amplify her physical prowess. She attacked the Xinkra that was holding the lifeless body of her mother, Wenet was faster and stronger but it wasn't enough. The beast slammed her down and if the villagers hadn't come to help she too would have been taken.

Being the oldest, after the death of their parents, Wenet became responsible for her younger siblings; Lochtay, Tomna and Dasha. Her plan to leave Kushibah was put on hold as she now had to run the farm and care for her siblings. In the event of the Xinkras ever attacking again, Wenet decided to train herself to be able to defend her home and family.

Smugglers Life

Her desire to leave Kushibah never faded and one day when her siblings were old enough to care for themselves an opportunity presented itself.

One morning when she was out collecting berries in the forest, Wenet came across a freighter. It belonged to a crew of smugglers that had landed for some repairs. One of them noticed Wenet and tried to catch the Kushiban for their dinner. But Wenet surprised them when she fought back. She eventually befriended them and they offered her a place on their crew. Wenet accepted the offer and said her goodbyes to her brother and sisters.

Wenet stayed with the crew for a couple of years; they became her family. They taught her everything to be able to survive anywhere in the galaxy, but there was one thing they couldn't help her with, the Force. She had many questions about her gifts but none of them could give her answers. It made her feel like something was missing and she didn't belong.

During her travels she met a man named Gui Sol . She wasn't aware at the time, but he was a Jedi and sensed the potential in her. Gui told her about the Dark Jedi Brotherhood, in particular clan Odan Urr. He told her that she would find her answers there. After talking to her crew about it she decided to seek the Brotherhood out, hoping that they could help her understand and train her.

Odan Urr

Following Sol’s directions, Wenet found her way to Kaist. Her arrival didn't go unnoticed for long, the Jedi, Waza Sunrider, noticed the Kushiban as she wandered around the spaceport looking for directions. Sunrider took her to the Praxeum where her journey in the Force would begin.

"Well hello there, Kushiban. You look formidable and lost at the same time. I am Jedi Waza Sunrider at your service, can I help you find your way?"
―Waza Sunrider to Wenet C. Bannog

Although Sunrider did help Wenet with her training, he wasn't her Master. The council had decided to give her one of similar stature to her; The Ewok, Tend'r Loyn. Loyn taught the Kushiban to master her abilities and even taught her a few new ones.

During her time at Odan Urr, Wenet bought her first ship: the Dead Parrot, an GX1 short hauler. During one of her first missions with the GX1, Wenet traveled to D’assem, a planet known for its Black Market District. What should have been a short visit to resupply and pick up a delivery, turned into something completely different. A Houk boy named Baka mistook Kushiban to be his mother after a group of teens had played a prank on him.

"Just look at me. We're not even the same species. I don't even understand your language… and… I would have remembered birthing you! "
―Wenet C. Bannog to Baka

Wenet learned that Baka was a slave and that he was going to be a fighter. Seeing how frightened he was of his master, Wenet couldn't leave him behind. She offered to buy him but the price was too high, so she went against the Jedi Code and used the Force to manipulate the owner to give her the boy for free.

Quermia

After being knighted, Wenet refused to take a padawan of her own as she felt she wasn't ready for such a responsibility. Master Loyn thought it would help the Kushiban if she'd chaperone a group of Padawans on a trip to Quermia.

At the time Quermia was in the opening hours of negotiations with the Insurgent Forces. The south western continent was deemed safe and the Quermians were eager to introduce the Jedi to their people, their ways of life, and showcasing just how the insurrection had taken a toll on their otherwise peaceful existence.

The first days Wenet and Waza took the group of six Padawans to visit various settlements. They learned much about their culture and had a good time but on the third night everything changed. The Insurgent Forces were identified as remnants of the Vauzem Dominion. By the time it was morning the cities were in chaos.

Wenet's priority was to get the Padawans off Quermia. With Waza’s ship, The Trenzalore, docked at the space port, they would take a journey of five kilometers on foot, sneaking through backstreets to avoid detection. But soon after leaving the hotel the Vauzem opened fire onto the city. Padawan Uharum, a bothan girl died on impact and soon after the space port was being bombarded; they had no choice than to return to the hotel.

When they returned to the hotel, Wenet and Waza were informed that they weren't allowed to leave and that there would be an investigation into the death of the Padawan. At dawn they were airlifted to Camp Tython, the army support and supply encampment. Wenet was filled with anger and guilt she wanted to fight but wasn't allowed.

After weeks at camp Tython, Wenet was sent back to Kiast. She was put on non active pending the investigation on Padawan Uharum’s death. She patiently waited, but weeks turned into months. The person responsible for the investigation was killed in action on Quermia. With the ongoing conflict the investigation simply was forgotten.

Struggling with guilt and the lack of counsel caused Wenet to drift away. To be able to provide for her adopted son, the Kushiban returned to her life as a Smuggler.

Scholae Palatinae

On a remote smugglers hub at the edge of the Unknown Regions, Wenet's curiosity got her trapped into a crate that was destined for Seraph. Before the freighter left the hub, Wenet managed to send a distress call to Waza Sunrider.

After being trapped for two days, the crate was finally opened by a waiter at a party for the new Governor and head of House Acclivis Draco. Waiting for Waza to come rescue her, she pretended to be one of the guests.

"A business proposal, you are a smuggler by trade. I at times need things retrieved or delivered that I would rather stay off the radar. This land is in the Arbor forest. Secluded enough and has a clearing large enough for a ship to land in. Work for me, not the empire and this will be your payment along with credits as needed."
―Korvyn to Wenet C. Bannog

Their presence hadn't gone unnoticed as both would be invited to a private celebration onboard the Victory’s Shadow. During that celebration the host himself, Korvyn Elvandar ; Proconsul of Clan Scholae Palatinae made an offer the Kushiban couldn't refuse. A piece of land on Seraph for the Kushiban to build a home in return for her Smuggling expertise.

Physical Description

Wenet is slightly taller than the average Kushiban, she has an athletic build. Her upper body tends to be more lean compared to her lower body, which is more bulky due to the muscles in her hind legs. She has white straight fur covering her from head to toe, which changes colors depending on her mood. Wenet has long ears on the top of her head and a long fluffy tail on her behind. She has a small snout and big light blue eyes that might also change color. She also has two scars diagonally across her face, claw mark from an encounter with a Xinkra on her home world. Kushiban are naturally quadruped, but Wenet prefers to walk on her hind legs like humanoids do.

Personality and traits

Because of her below average stature compared to other species, Wenet always felt like she had to prove herself. She is quick to anger when called out for her height or age, and is not afraid of taking on an opponent regardless of their size or intimidation factor. During a fight, Wenet rarely uses unique fighting styles or superb maneuvers, but she will still be winning, the best and dirtiest way she knows how. She is tough as nails, and displays an almost unmatched will to live. But underneath all that she had a soft and gentle soul and sees herself as a defender

Curious and impulsive, Wenet almost always acts on instinct. She may not think her actions through, especially in situations during or leading up to combat. Wenet often finds herself in tricky situations that put her in over her head. But the fearless and adventurous Kushiban always finds a way out. However her moral code often gets in the way of taking the easy way out.

Powers and abilities

Having been preyed upon by the Xinkra on Kushibah, has caused Wenet's natural perception to grow. She knows how to survive in challenging environments, she is a natural scavenger and despite being a herbivore she knows how to hunt.

By nature Wenet is Athletic and has great stamina. But being a lot smaller than most, Wenet often uses the Force to amplify her physical prowess; to jump higher, run faster, to hit or kick harder. She also has the ability to sense danger before it happens.
