The Gilded Golbet is a floating resort and casino that resides on Kiast, floating effortlessly through the toxic gas clouds that fill the planet. While the island is invisibly tethered to Essadan and the Voraskel Palace, it's exact location changes as the resort lazily circles the Vatali Empire's main city. It was founded by the House Vidh in 43 ABY as a means to "clean" their money, as well as trap their eldest child into the family business.
Description
The resort is made up on four main sectors, each having it's own location on the island. The landing pad is the first thing seen when arriving, which is surrounded by a semicircle building with full central air con and heating. Leading from the landing pad are massive walkways that wrap around a giant pool filled with exotic multicolored fish, a fountain, and a waterfall feature leading up the steps to the sectors.
The first sector is the Orator's Guilty pleasure-- an elegant and massive bar/restaurant, that features multiple bar tops, ample seating, and private dining rooms. The Orator's Guilty pleasure also holds a fully stocked, five star kitchen and restaurant staff which supplies food to the entire island. From there, there are two massive promenades leading east and west, as well as a set of massive, elaborately decorated glass elevators to the south.
To the east is the Lucky Porg Casino that features every well known casino game and private party rooms for those who wish to gamble in private. To the west is the Siren's Pool and Waterpark, a luxury waterpark for those who want to let off some steam.
Taking one of the many glass elevators to the south leads you up into the massive spire that holds the Silent Whisper hotel. There are a variety of different rooms to stay in and a huge complex of multi-room suites at the lower levels. The middle levels of the spire are staff housing, and the top levels offer permanent rooms for those who are rich enough to afford the rent.
Stylistic Details
The resort is, truly, a disgusting display of opulence and luxury. The entire resort features a motif of polished gold, white, and sky blue themes. One could even describe the theme as "futuristic art nouveau", as motifs of organic swirls, flowing curves, and elegant filigree fill every inch of the resort's different sectors.
There are also many different water features and varying forms of plant life throughout the resort, tying in to the design of the small island to make it feel more alive.
While there is some duracrete, most of the building materials are imported stone and marble from other planets-- namely high grade marble with gold speckling imported from Wayland.
Sephi Influence
Sephi influence is present in everything that resides in and on the resort-- from the clothing the servers wear, to the food that is served, to the materials the island is built from. It closely resembles the appearance of the Voraskel Palace in both architecture and themes. Whether this is on purpose is not known, as House Vidh refuses to make public commentary on it.
Sectors
The Orator's Guilty Pleasure

The Orator's Guilty Pleasure is a five-star bar and restaurant. It is also the central sector to the island, being the jump point to all other portions of the resort. The cuisine offered changes every day, as there are options for all races offered and all dietary needs are met by the top-end kitchen staff. Private dining terraces are available for rent for parties, and each terrace has it's own dedicated hostess. You can request certain hostesses in advance, and the system works much akin to a host-club-esque model.
The bars of the Orator's Lucky pleasure serve luxury cocktails along with any alcohol you could want. Because they are the favorite of the proprietress, Nildea Vidh, multiple brands from Kasiya Estates are also served. The only thing that is not available without prior notice are the specialty brands offered by the Kasiya-based company.
The house special cocktails are below:
- Hyperspace Lag: a cocktail made from Danaru, Sunburst Juice, ginger Phizz, and garnished with caramelized citrus fruit. Known for not tasting very alcoholic and having a delayed effect, taking about 30 minutes to actually hit the drinker.
- Siren's Tears: a drink comprised of Durindfire and Isothane, dripped over a glass of sugar and ice cubes and garnished with gold flakes. It's known gimmick is that the mixture of alcohols causes it to glow with a bright blue light.
- Nothing's Regret: a cocktail made from Merenzane Gold, Blossom Wine, and Charde garnished with petal-like pieces of pink sugar glass. It's gentle and fruity taste hides the strength of the drink, causing many to overconsume it.
- Kiastian Sunburn: a twist take on the typical Tantooine Sunburn consisting of the typical double dose of Starshine Surprise, but mixed with Charde and the extract of a special tea which causes a beautiful gradient of blue to pink to yellow throughout the glass. The tea extract and Charde cancels out the taste of the Starshine Surprise.
Lucky Porg Casino

The Lucky Porg Casino is a lavish and massive Casino complex with many different games for guests to play. You can either pay in chit, or have the costs billed to your overall stay and pay at the end. The games vary wildly from Pazaak to high-stakes Dejarik, as well as themed slot machines that sport the credit symbol at the jackpot indicator. Wait staff constantly mill amongst the patrons and offer complimentary bubbly drinks (both alcoholic and nonalcoholic) to those who want them.
Those who rack up too much of a debt in the casino can either sign a contract to work off their debt, sell some of their belongings, or sell their stock shares to the resort. Failure to chose any of these options usually leads to the offender being arrested and shipped off to a jail in Essadan.
There are several rules in the Lucky Porg Casino that must be abided by:
- Do not touch, grab, or harass the wait staff
- Verbal abuse or altercations with the dealers or game masters in the casino will not be tolerated
- Physical fights in the casino over any matter are not tolerated
- Weapons are to be checked at the door of the Casino
- Any grudges or feuds are to be left at the door. The Casino is for enjoyment only.
- Property damage forfeits your winnings to the house.
- Drunken disorderly conduct, as long as you are not harassing anyone, will get you banned from the Casino for a day. The resort will give you a room free of charge for the night to sleep off your inebriation.
Siren's Pool and Waterpark

The Siren's Pool is a top-end waterpark that features multiple attractions, private cabanas for those who want the feel of being at a pool without getting wet, and a bar installations for drinks by the pool and snacks. There are a multitude of Sephi life guards on duty for safety reasons, and each of the water attractions (such as the water slides) have kill switches on them for safety purposes.
You can rent a Sephi hostess for your private cabana, and each hostess comes with her own team of support staff to keep you cool and entertained.
This is one of the only sectors that children are allowed in outside of the Orator's Guilty Pleasure and the Hotel. If you are tired of chasing after your child, a Sephi babysitter is available for hire. Each babysitter is CPR certified, has primary childcare certifications, and is vetted by the company.
Many different flotation devices and other pool necessities are available and free of charge, from massive family sized floats to singular floatation rings. All damages to complimentary flotation devices will be charged to your account and will be due upon your check-out from the waterpark.
The Silent Whisper Hotel
The Silent Whisper Hotel doubles as both room and board for staff as well as visitors. There are also several permanent resident rooms for those who wish to never leave the island. While the cost of staying for guests is very expensive, and the rooms for permanent residents even more so, the staff are not charged for their rooms or the supplies they require during their stay. Just like everywhere else in the Gilded Goblet, there are themes of opulence everywhere you turn.
There is only two rules about staying at the hotel:
- If you damage any property during your stay, you will either have to pay for the damages or work off your debt.
- Children are to be attended by an adult everywhere while staying at the hotel.
Those who stay at the hotel are also treated to complimentary breakfast in bed every morning, brought to them by the staff of the island. Dinner is also complimentary, as it is factored into the overall price of the room. The menus for dinner and breakfast are delivered every morning by holomessage, and all guests need to do is respond to the holomessage with their choice of meal for that day.
If the person staying in the room has certain dietary needs, the menu is altered to fit them.
Temporary Hotel Rooms and Suite Complex - Lower Levels
For those who are only temporary guests at the island, there is a choice between staying in a singular hotel room or renting out one of the many massive suite complexes in the hotel. Basic hotel rooms are the cheaper option and offer a variety of bed size choices (double queen, king, Coruscant King, or Naboo King), ample seating, and an extravagant desk that stretches further into a countertop. Under the counter top is a mini-bar that is hand stocked according to the needs of the guest by the staff.
The suite complexes have multiple bedrooms of varying numbers, a lavish central entertainment room with a full wall holoscreen, a full service kitchen, and varying allotments of full and half baths depending on the amount of bedrooms. The groceries in the kitchen are again hand stocked by hotel staff and are dependent on the individual needs of the person(s) renting the suite complex. Suite complexes range from 1 room to six rooms.
Special rates for Suite complexes are given to members of Clan Odan-Urr, at up to a 50% discount depending on how many people are staying at once.
Staff Housing - Middle Levels
Staff housing mirrors the suite complexes, and the staff member renting out the specific apartment can edit or style their room however they wish as long as the changes to the room are able to be reversed for when they leave service. People who sign contracts to work off their debt are also granted a staff apartment during their stay. Staff put in weekly orders for supplies they need to restock their apartments (groceries, toiletries, etc.) which are reviewed and approved by the Proprietress. In the contract it puts a limit on weekly supply costs, but staff have noticed that Nildea never seems to deny orders that go over it.
Staff members are allowed to bring their family to live with them, free of charge.
Permanent Residences - Upper Levels
Permanent residences also mirror the suite complexes, except they are somehow more opulent. Each of the permanent residences either offers a terrace with a built in hot tub, or a terrace with a garden and ample seating. Those who wish to live permanently on the island have to sign 3 year-long leases, but are able to make changes to their residence as long as it's approved by the Proprietress-- but as long as you're not ruining the residence structurally, they are always approved. The lease for these massive residences are paid yearly, and include the cost of:
- All meals on the island, including: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a stipend for drinks. You can always pay out of pocket for more alcohol if you reach your stipend.
- All necessities such as: shampoo, toiletries, etc.
- Free admission to the Siren's Pool and Waterpark
- Weekly stipends for gambling
