Unit History

History

"Fior Go Bas - Faithful Unto Death"
―Major Lerak Sorotai
Grand Master Muz Ashen

At the highest levels of power, it quickly becomes evident that there are fewer people who can be trusted. This is a fact the Grand Master is all too familiar with. That truth was also the reason the Reapers were initially created.

The Reapers were formed in 30 ABY under the rule of Darth Ashen, and report directly to the Iron Throne. They have no ties to Clan or House. Every member has been tried and tested in the crucible of war and their loyalty remains unyielding.

The Reapers do not seek glory or fame. They are largely unknown outside the circle of the Dark Council. They are the ones that are most frequently the first in and the last out. They are the ones the Grand Master calls upon when no one else can be trusted to do the job.

Their formation gave the Grand Master an effective force at his beck and call without having to rely on the cooperation of the Clans and Houses.

Training

"Your best is only good enough if it’s better than the rest"
―Major Lerak Sorotai
The training academy on the agri-moon.

Each member of the Reapers was handpicked because of their exemplary records of outstanding service, or because they showed exceptionally high potential. Once part of the unit, they are committed to a strict regimen of training.

The Reapers constantly strive to maintain their standards of excellence. Their training includes both mental and physical challenges to hone each member into the best they can possibly be. Their regimen also focuses on the highly coordinated teamwork that makes them so efficient and successful.

There is no competition of egos; there is no reward for unnecessary heroics. Each member is reminded frequently that they are part of a team, a cohesive unit, and are responsible for doing their part in every operation or exercise.

Philosophy

"Duty does not require understanding. Don’t question your orders, you follow them and do your job"
―Corporal Coryn Vance

The core philosophy of the Reapers is summed up quite well in their motto, Fior Go Bas- Faithful unto Death. They do not back down from any challenge, and they do whatever is necessary to accomplish whatever mission the Grand Master sends them on. They are always ready to go at a moment’s notice.

Loyalty, both to the Grand Master, and to each other, is deeply ingrained in every member. Surrender, retreat, and failure are not acceptable options. The Reapers pride themselves on their dedication and skill in serving the Iron Throne.

Missions and Roles

The roles of all the members tie in together as a unit, but each role is very important in it’s own right: when used in unison; it would provide for a deadly unit.

Psyops

This is interrogation, finding out not only the secrets kept, but the information that might provide insight into the motivations of the opposition as well. It can cause confusion, disruptions with thoughts of what the ‘norm’ are as well as mental torment. Psyops is the beginning of pure psychological warfare and beneficial to demoralize and demotivate the opposition; Krath would be really good at this type of position. You can go so far as begin to reverse brainwash people and get them to convert to your way of thinking. Psyops is necessary to find out simply what the otherside has information on, to find out future plans and other useful data like statistics.

Black Ops

These are the shadow, silent killers. They are the ones that can not only observe, but eliminate any scouts or front runners of the opposition. Black Ops are useful as snipers as well as shadow warriors that can stay and remain hidden and eliminate threats. Black Ops are needed so you can get inside and observe (without being noticed) what the opposition is doing, and when possible eliminate any targets.

Infiltration

Getting someone on the inside is simply one of the easiest ways to defeat your enemy to get individuals, or even small groups, within enemy/target line, you can begin to dis-assemble their defense systems. If you take out any front line defense, it will make the attack that much more effective and efficient. These troop would have to move swiftly and in unison, a fleet of silent destroyers if you will; ready to slip in and destroy before they are noticed.

Interdiction

To cut off transportation of supplies, weapons, food and even general transporation in a war zone is very disruptive to the opponents. This is simply to cut off the supply line whether it be for maintenance, offense, defense or basics. The opposition puts out the call for more troops or arms; or even for supplies or aid to the front lines and that path is cut off and the supplies/supply chain often destroyed. This is beneficial in again causing confusion, disruption as well as tying the hands of the opposition to move artillery about, heavy frontline defense support as well as pull people out of the battlezone. This fleet is needed to remove supply lines, it can be disrupted or destroyed; the benefit of disrupting is using what ever it is yourself…destroyed would be useful to move quickly.

Eradication

The elimination of all opponents/enemies. Leave no stone unturned; in this case, NO JEDI LEFT ALIVE it is not taking any prisoners, total slaughter and total onslaught. These people would have to be blood thirsty ruthless killing machines, assassins, people that take pleasure almost a perverted pleasure in slaying multitudes. If there is one Jedi left, it can be rebuilt. Eradication is the only way to eliminate the threat.

Detailed Unit Information

870th Platoon

870th Platoon

Known as the Sentinels, the 870th is a highly trained infantry unit, and is often used as the immovable block for the company. It is generally tasked with taking control of an area, locking it down and defending it until the mission is complete. Each man is trained vigorously to hold the line, and lay down overlapping fields of fire. A very dangerous defensive unit, the 870th is also capable of attacking as needed.

The 870th has 40 men under its command, broken up into four squads. Squads Besh, Cresh and Dorn are ten-man units, led by a Sergeant. Each of these squads has a light repeating blaster to provide additional firepower, as well as a good complement of thermal detonators. Squad Aurek is commanded by the Lieutenant, who is also in command of the entire Platoon. Aurek is equipped with two specialist weapons, a light repeating blaster and a small shoulder-mounted missile launcher.

The platoon has two vehicles assigned to it, both of which are speeder bikes. They provide mobility to two of platoon's men, allowing them to scout the area, harry enemy troop movements and relay messages when communication systems are down.

871st Platoon

The Exiles are the scouts of the 991st. The 971st Platoon is a hand-picked unit of rangers and scouts, tasked with scouring the land on reconnaissance missions as well as deep strike attacks. They are well-suited to attacking from the forests, fighting guerrilla warfare and setting ambushes for enemy patrols.

The 871st has 40 men under its command, broken up into four squads. Squads Besh, Cresh and Dorn are ten-man units, led by a Sergeant. Each squad is equipped lightly, with one pair equipped with a high-powered optic system and a sniper rifle. Squad Aurek is commanded by the Lieutenant, who is also in command of the entire Platoon. Aurek is equipped with strong tracking systems, allowing them to keep tabs on their troops as well as the enemy's. These systems relay tracking information back to Headquarters to maintain an up-to-date picture of the battlefield.

The platoon has six vehicles assigned to it, all of which are speeder bikes. They provide mobility to Aurek Squad, allowing them to scout the area faster, harry enemy troop movements and relay messages when communication systems are down.

872nd Platoon

They are nicknamed the Forsaken, because they are often ignored by the enemy. Unseen and unheard, the 872nd Platoon is a very dangerous tool in the hands of an intelligent commander. Used to make covert strikes into enemy territory, as well as attacking specific targets in preparation for a larger attack, such as power plants or communications towers.

The 872nd has 40 men under its command, broken up into 10 four-man teams. Each team has exactly the same composition: a Sergeant (or Lieutenant for Team Aurek) in command, a technician for computer work, a sniper to cover his team mates and a heavy weapons and demolitions expert to deal with any obstacles and objectives. The teams are named after letters in the Aurebesh alphabet: Aurek, Besh, Cresh, Dorn, Esk, Forn, Grek, Herf, Isk, and Jenth.

The unit has two speeder bikes assigned to it, and are not often used. When they are used, they are escape vehicles for particularly dangerous missions.

873rd Platoon

The heavy hand of the 991st, the 873rd is known by the moniker, Vornskr. These wild beasts exemplify just how this platoon fights: with ferocity and always pushing the advantage.

The 873rd has 40 men assigned to it, all of whole are mounted on vehicles. There are no squads, but each vehicle is commanded from the QH-7 Chariot. There are two 1-M Imperial-class repulsortanks, each crewed by four men, as well as six T1-B hovertanks, also with four men crewing them. These tanks are all hovercraft, making them stealthier than any walker could be. The final eight men crew the Chariot, and two speeder bikes.

313th Headquarters Section

The Headquarters section, codename Atlas, acts as the information nexus of the company. Troop positions and enemy dispositions are relayed from it's platoons and other elements to the headquarters, before being distributed again, allowing each unit to have a broader view of the battlefield and reduces the fog of war.

The 313rd Headquarters Section is commanded by a First Sergeant Sekaod Unonax, giving the Major time to command the entire company. Since this section is rarely in the middle of combat, it's ten men are communications specialists, information systems technicians and tacticians. The Sergeant and one other man are tasked with the section's protection, though other elements are usually within close range for support.

612th Auxiliary Section

Trained to exemplify their namesake Spectres, 612th are the assigned assassins of the 991st. They are tasked with recon, marking targets and taking out dangerous individuals.

The unit is split up into 5 ten-man teams, each team consisting of a sniper and a spotter. The teams rarely work together and are instead considered single elements. The spotters are equipped with high-powered optics to assist with finding targets.

613th Auxiliary Section

When heavier weapons are called for the 613th, commonly known as the Havocs, are their to answer. Highly-specialized in the art of heavy weapon use, the Havoc pride themselves on always getting the job done no matter what the odds.

Armed with a variety of heavy weapons, the 613th, works as a unit rather than breaking up. This creates a volley effect when attacking a target in unison. It's ten men are led by a Master Sergeant, and are often employed to take out targets much larger than they are.

The 613th has two vehicles at its disposal. A transport which can carry the entire unit and pull the second vehicle, a Merr-Sonn Grenade Mortar.

268th Engineering Section

When vehicles break down, or obstacles are in your way, the 268th Engineering Section is your friend. Known as the Devil Dog Section, they are equipped with machinery and tools to fix just about any battlefield breakdown and explosives to remove any object blocking your attack.

The 268th has 20 men, mostly engineers, with four men as protection. Led by a Technical Sergeant, they are also equipped with four vehicles. One high-powered wheeled vehicle for towing, and bulldozing, and three transports, to carry the men, and their tools into combat.

101st Ground Support Squadron

101st Squad

The 101st Ground Support Squadron are the angels on the shoulders of the 991st. Transporting the troops to the ground and back up again, as well as defending them with fighter cover, Their pilots are daredevils, flying through anti-aircraft fire to collect men in danger, or strafing units over and over to cover a retreat.

Known as the Valkyrie Squadron, they operate 4 MAAT/i infantry transports and six TIE Defenders. The TIE Defenders are equipped with proton torpedoes and are often used to attack major targets as a distraction. The MAAT/i transport are fully loaded with weapons, and are incredible dangerous in a ground attack role.

Standard Equipment and Armor

As the elite unit attached to the Dark Council and carrying out orders of the Grand Master or the Deputy Grand Master themselves, this group is equipped with the best equipment currently available. It is noteworthy that different sections of the platoon receive different set of equipment, depending on their profiles.

Assault Infrantry

This section of the unit is designed for typical assault missions. Thus, while the equipment of the unit itself may be referred as ‘elite’, this section is equipped with the most average weaponry.

Each soldier carries slightly modified A280 blaster rifle with a grenade launcher attached. Standard belt equipment of assault infantry section includes also five additional energy cells for the A280 blaster rifle, three thermal detonators and standard devices for short and long distance communication. When necessary, soldiers of assault infantry wear black armor manufactured from self-repairing material called laminanium.

In the backpacks, members of assault infantry section carried additional energy cells and both anti-infantry and anti-tank mines. In addition to that, as part of the elite unit, they were allowed to include any necessary equipment.

Clone Commando using a WESTAR-M5 blaster rifle.

Rangers / Scouts

This section of the unit is responsible for reconnaissance missions and guerrilla fighting. The type of the main missions is reflected by section’s standard equipment.

As far as weapons are concerned, scouts are equipped with WESTAR-M6 blaster rifle, which is the successor of WESTAR-M5 blaster rifle. It has been redesigned in order to get a silenced weapon, which may utilize different add-ons, like grenade launcher.

In addition to that, standard equipment of a scout trooper includes three mines and a set of hand-held scanners and detectors, which allow to gather various information about the surroundings. Advanced communication devices allow to transmit encrypted data directly from the scanners. Scouts’ standard equipment contains also hacking devices.

Scouts do not wear armor, which would limit their movement abilities, as they rely on agility instead of armor protection. Instead of armor they prefer Chameleon Suit, which allows them to remain invisible under certain circumstances.

Commandos

Team Dorn.

Members of commando team is usually tasked with infiltration and other types of crucial, but delicate missions. Thus, they are equipped with the most advanced masterpieces of weaponry and equipment.

The most common weapon among members of the commando team is DC-20d Interchangeable Weapon System. Developed from the DC-17m Interchangeable Weapon System, it is very similar to its predecessor, as it provides great flexibility with exchangeable add-ons. It makes this blaster rifle very useful in the eyes of commando team.

In addition to that, soldiers of commando team are equipped with Chameleon Armour, which provides both protection and camouflage, adapting itself to the surroundings. It is not perfect, as its camouflage abilities are useful only, when its wearers remain with no move. However, it also includes variety of scanners and a kind of HUD, which displays information about the distance to target, size of objects, differences in height, weather forecast and life signs in the surroundings. It also allows to see in the night-vision and the ultraviolet.

Snipers

Dedicated to the motto: “One shot, one kill”, snipers are specialists in long-ranged fighting, what is reflected with the suitable equipment.

In the matter of weaponry, members of snipers section carried DX-12 sniper rifle. Based on Verpine sniper rifle, it works in similar way and provides enough firepower to severely hurt even heavily armored targets. DX-12 is not only weapon of snipers. In case of being detected, they carry E-19 blaster rifles.

Other equipment of snipers includes two thermal grenades and advanced optic systems, which allow to observe targets from long distances. They also wear Chameleon Suit in order to protect themselves against observers.

Heavy weapons

“Blast’em up!” says their motto and their equipment is perfect reflection of their fighting policy.

Their standard weapons are MiniMag PTL missile launchers, Thermal Detonator Launchers, EMP launchers and other similar weapons. In addition to that, they carry numerous thermal detonators, anti-infantry and anti-tank mines, as well as sets of high-explosives. When necessary, members of heavy weapons squad utilized Merr-Sonn Mobile Grenade Mortar.

Other equipment included standard communication devices, binoculars and DC-20d Interchangeable Weapon System for self-defense.

Vehicles

Due to limited amount of space in vehicles, members of this section use very basic equipment. Main difference between them and assault infantry is that they utilize DC-15S blaster instead of A280 blaster rifle. It is so, because DC-15S blaster is shorter than most of blaster rifles.

Drop ship crew

Due to very specific tasks carried out by the drop ship crews, its members use very basic equipment, including E-15 blaster rifles.

Headquarters

The role of headquarters is much different than of other sections of the unit. They are to analyze current tactical situation and to adjust orders and tactics to new circumstances. That is why members of the HQ are equipped with the most advanced scanners, communication devices and equipment to display tactical status.

However, their equipment includes also large variety of weapons, ranging from short range blaster pistols and blaster rifles to heavy weapons and thermal detonators. It is so in order to provide them protection against any possible enemies, who might discover their location.

For years, he worked thorugh out connections he’d made while in various schools at the Academy, learning to be the best officer he could be.

Lerak worked as a First Lieutenant on the Imperial Star Destroyer Gorgon under Natasi Daala. He worked up through the ranks and became a Captain. After Daala took command of the warlord's Star Destroyers, Lerak’s platoons died in the take over. For his failure, he was demoted to Second Lieutenant.

With this mistake heavy on his shoulder over the losses because of his failure in communications, Lerak learned from his terrible mistake. He resigned from his position and joined the Imperial Remnant as a Captain despite his hesitancy. He ordered his troops around getting things done all the while remembering the responsibility that his actions hold many lives in his hand. During the Yuuzhan Vong war, Lerak’s superiors were killed in a collission between their ship and two Yuuzhan Vong’s destroying everything. He has hazel eyes and short cropped auburn hair. He has lived his life learning how to survive and now brings that talent to the 991st. He raised in a poor household on Corellia, where he spent much of his time on the streets and dealing with gang activities. At the age of 7 he was forced to fight off a group of teenagers who were trying to get recruited into the feared Red Circle Gang. It was in this fight he made his first kill. At the age of 16, he lied about his age to join the Corellian Militia as part of the defenses against the incoming Yuuzhan Vong in the galaxy. He spent the next several years engaged in guerrilla warfare around the galaxy fighting the Vong. He had a confirmed 178 kills when Brotherhood representatives contacted him. 2 years into the Vong War, he joined the Brotherhood fleet. Since then he has been working his way up the ranks and is now the XO.

Personality: Hardened by his life on the streets and his time conducting guerrilla warfare, Heleric understands what it takes to survive. He also understands a different side of combat. Where most military officers plan according to traditional military formations, Heleric knows how weaker indigenous groups would fight back against a superior force. First Sergeant

"Shut up. You have an order. DO IT. No donít care, just do it"
―Sekaod Unonax

To the untrained eye he looks like any other old Sluissi, with dark green skin and black eyes. Sekaod is not a lifelong military personnel. Like most of his species he was gifted with a natural talent and understanding of machines and technology. He quickly found himself managing a large section of the legendary Sluis Van Shipyards by age 23. He was a naturally gifted manager, patient and understanding as is common with his species. However a scandal involving his superior at the shipyard embezzling money ended with Sekaod getting the blame and fired. This event changed his life in more ways than one. He became angry and aggressive traits very uncommon for a Sluissi. Following this scandal, he was brought into the Brotherhood’s military as an technician for the fleet. His leadership abilities once again shone through and he quickly became an important leader for the technicians of the 991st. When the Vong invaded DB space he kept a level head and his harsh attitude saved the lives of his subordinates. He was brought into the military forces and is currently serving as the 991st First Sergeant. Fear and loved by his men he is the cranky old Sluissi who will do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Personality: As Sekaod has gotten older he has lost most of his typical Sluissi traits of patience and calmness. His failure at the Sluis Van Shipyard made him hard and bitter and now he is a rough First Sergeant in the 991st.

With Lerak leading the 991st, Scrabbles has become the face of the unit. All the men of 991st have come to respect and fear the honeybadger. They have all seen Scrabbles fearlessly face larger animals and take them down. They have seen Scrabbles get poisoned and get up and recover. Garrison

Limbus Station.

Limbus Station is the recovered and renamed space station for the Reapers. Limbus is a stationary space station, large enough to be self-sustaining and house troops, fighters, training grounds and has defenses as well. It is located in the Outer rim, just on the outskirts of the Esstran sector. It was constructed piece by piece, slowly, and secretively under the auspices of the Iron Throne.

There is an agrimoon located very close to the space station, just between Limbus and New Tython, where personnel can go for rest and relaxation as well as further training. There is a small base camp that is used for training in both the mountainous and jungle terrain that will be encountered on New Tython.

Layout

The space station is set out in levels, there are three major levels to the space station, each with their own offices, departments and sections.

Limbus station has a layered system of defenses including shields, pinpoint laser cannons, and turbolasers around the entire hull

Alpha Sector

  • Alpha-1 (the top section of the space station) is dedicated to the defense system. Alpha of Limbus contains 4 ion cannon batteries and 12 quad laser cannon batteries to supply power. There are 12 XX-8 turbolasers (produced by Taim & Bak) placed throughout the top levels as well as one large/heavy tractor beam. Also included in the top level of “Alpha” is a large docking pad for larger ships.
  • Alpha-2 is designed for shipping and receiving. This is where the crew receives and inspects all incoming cargo as well as ships out space junk and equipment that has failed.
  • Alpha-3 is where the droids and personnel work on ships and equipment. It’s a fully functional garage and repair location. If your weapon is malfunctioning or misfiring, they can fix it. If your ship has troubles, they’ve got you covered. There is little, outside of custom weaponry that the team in the repair center cannot handle.
  • Alpha-4 is designated for offices and administration. This level of “Alpha” is where all business is conducted. Purchase orders, requests for equipment and general gripes are all processed here. If you need something ordered, if you need to ship something or if you just plain need something, it will pass through this office at some point.

Bravo Sector

Zone “Bravo” of the Limbus space station is for the personnel.

  • Bravo-1 is for training; there are gun ranges, holofields for lightsaber training, simulators for flight and many other ‘secretive locations’ for training where information is never divulged. (Rumor has it, it’s related to Force training and preparation for Psyops, but no confirmation is available) There are halls that have very restricted access for some of the training; only the highest of Sith or Krath are permitted inside, so rumors abound what occurs within those halls.
  • Bravo-2 is the gymnasium and track. Swimming is provided as well as a fully equipped gymnasium, with and without a varying degree of gravity. The gymnasium has equipment that will increase the endurance of the personnel as well as strengthen and heal muscles. There is a thorough physical therapy department housed in the left quarter, for those that have strained muscles or been injured in battle.
  • Bravo-3 and 4 is the housing unit for the space station. Bunks and lounges are located here with the bottom two being an enormous mess hall, able to feed everyone at space station Limbus at once. The cook is much appreciated Momuza or “Mom” as she’s often referred to, can cook up a variety of delicacies that makes for surprisingly tolerable military food.
  • Bravo-5 and 6 are set aside for research areas and also the Quartermaster’s office: for provision of uniforms and various weaponry. This is the area that houses the library as well as documentation. Research and obtaining of any knowledge happens here in Bravo.. There is also a special request office for those that would order a custom weapon or robe outside of standard issue. The exchange is located here as well, where personnel can receive packages and buy non-issue items. In the last level of Bravo is the huge cantina: “The Flaming Corpse” houses many a wild night, camaraderie and a place for everyone to blow off steam and meet.
Charlie Sector.

Charlie Sector

The final sector of the Limbus Spacestation, Charlie, is a series of halls and tunnels which gets pilots to the ships and starcraft they will be piloting. The ships, starfighters and any vehicles used in battle are stored and prepared in this sector. There is a lounge with simulators for a variety of craft, as well as a coffee station that serves a variety of beverages to provide energy to the pilots.
