- ""When does my scion resign
United the orders two
Know then at end is my line""
- ―The Prophecy
The Prophecy of Alain Caer foretold the end of the line of Caer. It was said that at the rise of the third sun night would fall and the end would come for the Caer'aka, the Sons of Caer, who, as language evolved, became the Caerick family. The prophecy was contained in the Alain Caer, the First of the Caer, a tome that contained the history of the Caer as supposedly passed down from the First. The Caer were a long and proud line of Corellian Jedi, none of whom were known to have ever delved into the dark side of the Force.
Like most Jedi prophecies, it was not fully understood, and was largely passed down by the Caericks by word of mouth, told by the fire, deep into the Corellian night. Some believed "united the orders two" meant there would be a unification of the Sith and Jedi Orders. However, according to Alaerus Caerick, Alain Caer once said that the first to fall would signal the end of their bloodline.
The prophecy would become true when Trevarus Caerick became the apprentice of Imperial Inquisitor Kiln Tobasa. Trevarus would fall to the dark side, becoming a student of the Krath Inquisitor. Decades later, having never sired an heir, the line of Caer ended in 29 ABY when the last Caerick was consumed by Shan Long.
