- "Yes, mayonnaise is absolutely an edible drum, thank you Mex."
- ―Mey, convincing Mex of a lie
Meyrath is a Zabraki mercenary currently employed on the Voidbreaker as the ship's galley cook. He regularly accompanies the Voidbreaker security team during shore missions as he is quite proficient in combat, and his force abilities come in handy more often than not.
Physical Description
Meyrath is an albino zabrak, possessing extremely pale features, such as white hair, white horns, and a complete lack of pigment in his skin. His appearance is fairly androgynous with a more feminine face, and a lean figure lacking any bulky muscles.
He keeps his hair at a medium length, letting it fall over his right eye, while the left half of his head is shaved.
His body is adorned with hundreds of scars, all reminders of the past that he wants nothing to do with. The ones that stand out the most are the gash that runs across his right eye, a jagged slash across his throat, and two massive scars that run down the center of his chest. Several others mar the features on his face, as well as many on his arms.
Cultural tattoos cover forty percent of his flesh - a dark grey in stark contrast to his milky skin. They line his features from his face, all the way down to his feet. He has the naturally white sclera of his eyeballs tattooed black, distinctly showing off the reds of his iris. He has also taken to capping the tips of his horns in gold plating, as well as wearing gold rings in both his ears, and nipples.
The clothing he wears are elegant, if not slightly worn. He adores the colours maroon and gold, and those will typically be found in his palate somewhere.
Character History
Early Life
"Meyr Wrath", was born on the planet Dathomir and into the Order of the Fanged God, a matriarchal cult formed from the fragments of the night brothers and sisters left over after the clone wars. The leader of the cult, and also Meyrath’s mother, was High-Nightmother Vesziir.
Life was not an easy one. As a Nightbrother in the Order of the Fanged God, he was treated as a second-class citizen. His twin sister, “Beset Ire”, was always more favored. His goal all through childhood was to be her equal, but it was never enough.
His older brother, Nathar Wraith, was his one and only friend growing up. They were extremely close and took comfort in each other during the horrors they endured. Nathar commit suicide at the age of 20, which left a lasting impact on Meyr.
The Trial of Resilience
At the age of 21, Meyr underwent the trial of resilience, as all males do.
The trial involves them being wounded and then dumped on a planet somewhere with nothing on them but the name of someone tattooed on their body. They must survive through whatever means, and hunt down a traitor specified to them. They are only allowed to return to Dathomir when the traitor is dead and they are proven worthy. The trial sees that the weak perish, and the strong come back ten times stronger.
Ire chose the planet her brother would be dropped on, and after some pleading, Mother allowed her to be the one to do the honors. She chose I’vorka Prime, a nature-preserve planet known for its abundance of deadly fauna. For the first time in his life, Meyr left Dathomir.
He was excited, nervous, and in awe, all at the same time. When they got to I’vorcia Prime, he found it to be beautiful. That was when Ire attacked. Using a vibroblade, Ire essentially eviscerated her brother. She plunged it deep within his gut and dragged upwards until she hit his ribcage.
Then, she threw him from the ship’s hangar.
Meyr’s fall was broken by tree branches, and he landed in a small lagoon. However, he could not swim. He soon found himself floundering in the waters until darkness overtook him.
Rescue
Meyr woke up - something he didn’t expect to be doing ever again. And he woke up indoors.
There was a Togruta man in the room with him. Meyr was violent at first - terrified of the new alien he was seeing for the first time. However, the violence did not last long. His injuries were extensive, and after popping several stitches in his abdomen, he could no longer move. He accepted his death at the hands of the Togruta, but surprisingly, the man did nothing of the sort. Instead, he tended to him.
The Togruta spoke to him in soft tones as he tended to his wounds. Meyr didn’t speak a word of common and therefore didn’t understand, but the man seemed gentle enough, and Meyr didn’t have any other choice. He allowed the man to tend to his wounds.
Meyr was able to stand and move about on his own a day after his landing on I’vorca Prime, but only out of sheer stubbornness. He hobbled about the cabin, making it outdoors to seek some privacy before the Togruta coaxed him back inside. The language barrier was difficult to get around, but they made it work with hand-signals until the Togruta was able to teach Meyr some common.
The Togruta introduced himself as Korvo.
Korvo explained he was a wildlife ranger on I’vorka Prime . His cabin was the only habitation within the sector. Meyr did not share the reasoning behind his appearance on the planet, nor his wounds, but he did give Korgo his name - Meyr Wrath.
Meyrath, Korvo called him. He didn’t bother correcting him.
Korvo
Hours on I’vorka Prime turned into days, and while Meyrath’s wounds healed, his condition only worsened. A fever began that only climbed as the hours rolled by. His body was wracked with chills and sweats. The pain in his abdomen intensified, and he began to vomit blood.
Korvo himself specialized in zoology, and while he had never operated on a sapient being before, the Zabrak was dying. They did not have a choice. Meyrath was given a drug to numb the pain slightly, and Korvo set to work.
Korvo found a rupture in Meyrath’s stomach and small intestine. He was able to close it up with medical equipment he had on hand, and siphon out any bile that had leaked into his system. The wound was closed up, and he put Meyrath on an I.V. drip, hoping for the best.
His condition did improve after a few days. With antibiotics to fight the infection, his fever went down, and after three days in a coma, Meyrath woke up.
His recovery time was several weeks, where Korvo didn’t allow him to get up unless it was to use the facilities. He spent the time either sleeping, or learning to speak common. Gradually, he became stronger and stronger, until finally, he was able to take a walk with Korvo outside. The Togruta showed him the reserve they were living on, and the lagoon he had fallen into.
Here, Meyrath finally told Korvo his story, and said that he needed to continue on his trial.
Korvo was upset. They had become close within the four months he had stayed, and Korvo was alone. He didn’t want Meyrath to leave, but gave him the opportunity to do so if he truly wanted to. A supply carrier was on its way in the next month, and Meyrath would be able to take it off world.
The Hunt (Current Year)
Meyrath left I’vorca Prime on the first supply carrier that landed, and arrived on the planet Navarro where he began his hunt for the man known as Kerruk Massar.
He worked odd jobs to make money in order to buy information, working as a labourer, delivery driver and a hunter once he was able to make enough money to buy himself weapons. Eventually, he came across a place known as Mos Kenny, where he met some strange individuals that piqued his interest more than anything else. His hunt for Kerruk Massar was put on hold for the moment as he went along with his newfound acquaintances.
Eventually, Meyrath's hunt was all but abandoned in favour of seeing what life offered him. His acquaintances turned into allies, and even friends. The shistavanen Kathka Togrim took him under her wing as something of an apprentice, and their friendship was solidified after they took down a caxqette on Selen. After recovering from a dislocated shoulder, broken arm, and several broken ribs inflicted at the hands of the monster, Meyrath joined Kathka on the Voidbreaker where he currently works as the galley cook.
