History

The Executive Decision entered service with Clan Plagueis shortly after the invasion of Cor'neria. Acquired in recognition of the Clan's exceptional service during the campaign, the newly constructed Kapsina-class frigate represented a substantial modernization of the Plagueian fleet and was immediately assigned as its principal command vessel.

As one of the newest warships in Plagueis service, the Executive Decision has accumulated little operational history of its own. Its commissioning nevertheless marked a significant investment in the Clan's long-term military capabilities, providing Plagueis with a purpose-built platform capable of supporting both independent deployments and larger fleet operations.

Role

The Executive Decision serves as the primary command ship of the Plagueian fleet. Designed to coordinate operations across an entire task force, the frigate combines substantial communications, sensor, and command-and-control capabilities with enough offensive and defensive power to operate as an effective frontline warship.

Rather than serving solely as a battleship, the vessel functions as the organizational center of a Plagueian deployment. Its command facilities allow senior leadership to direct fleet actions, ground operations, intelligence activities, and logistical support from a single mobile headquarters. When necessary, the Executive Decision is also capable of operating independently, allowing it to serve as the centerpiece of smaller expeditionary forces without requiring support from heavier capital ships.

Layout

The interior of the Executive Decision is divided into six principal levels, with command and administrative spaces occupying the upper portions of the vessel and increasingly operational and technical facilities located below.

Level One — Executive: Houses the vessel's senior command facilities and spaces reserved for the Dread Lord and senior Plagueian leadership.

Level Two — Senior: Contains accommodations, offices, briefing facilities, and support spaces for senior officers and other ranking personnel.

Level Three — Training: Dedicated primarily to instruction and training, providing facilities for both individual and unit-level preparation.

Level Four — Military: Contains the majority of the vessel's military operations and personnel facilities, including accommodations and support spaces for deployed forces.

Level Five — Hangar: Houses the frigate's embarked spacecraft, flight operations facilities, maintenance areas, and associated cargo-handling spaces.

Level Six — Engineering: Contains the ship's principal engineering spaces, including its reactors, propulsion systems, power distribution, environmental systems, and other essential machinery.

The arrangement allows the Executive Decision to function simultaneously as a warship, headquarters, training facility, and mobile base of operations while maintaining a clear separation between executive, military, flight, and engineering functions.
