- "The Black Hand will have already proven their worth to both the House and Clan."
- ―Orv Dessrx d'Tana
The Black Hand consists of both the Imperator and the Executor, who serve as the House Summit's Left and Right Hands outside of the Battleteam Leaders. The Executor's duties include working with criminal organizations, while the Imperator leads the troops of House Galeres into battle.
The Black Hand
Foundation of the Black Hand
In early 30 ABY, the Quaestor and Aedile of House Galeres, Xathia and Orv d'Tana, discussed the ideals of no direct face-to-face with the organizations of the criminal underworld, as well as delegating the job of leading the troops into battle in order to protect themselves and keep their positions as long as possible. Conferring quietly between themselves at first, before the Battleteam Leaders, JScumm of Blue Mist and Zandro Savric Erinos of Soulfire Strike Team, were brought in to finalize the details.
Duties of the Black Hand
The Executor
The Executor's prime duty is to deal and meet with the criminal organizations of the underworld, serving as the sole conduit between the House Galeres Summit and the criminals that they so often deal with. As a symbol of office, the Executor wears a set of elaborate robes crafted by the Master-Tailors of the Hapes Consortium.
Other duties and powers that pertain to the Executor are:
- The ability to meet and deal with the organizations that makeup the Criminal Underworld.
- The right to sign all contracts and deals pertaining to criminal items, such as drugs and spice, but only after being given the Summit's blessing.
- The power to speak for the Summit, concerning criminal matters, declaring their wants and needs.
- The Executor must adhere to the Summit's wishes when conducting meets.
The Imperator
The Imperator is responsible for leading and commanding the troops of House Galeres in battle, and is often considered the voice of the Summit when in battle. When commanding his troops, the Imperator dons a set of armor that was forged by the Armor-Smiths of Corellia.
- The Imperator holds the duty of leading and directing the military might of House Galeres when in battle.
- The right to give orders and position troops, but only after these plans have been approved by the Summit.
- The honor of being the highest-ranking military commander in House Galeres.
- While the Imperator commands the troops, he must do so according to the Summit's plans.
