Atticus Corsca is a Jedi who found his way in Dark Brotherhood space in 43 ABY. The Force guided the poor, lost Padawan to the site of the Sol'Vida Farm, where he ran into Rue, Vance Whitlock and several members of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood and its affiliates. He fully expected when being told that Sith were amongst their members that he would be slain where he stood but was surprised to find them more than welcoming.
Following his brief experience on Kasiya, Atticus set out on a journey of self-discovery. He wanted to understand many things: how the common people lived life without a dependence on the Force, what love meant, what love beyond service looked like, to discover what friendships could be found in the galaxy at large, and even to find out what things he had missed while his worldview had been so narrowly set.
Biographical Data
Early Life
His earliest memories were with his mother on Ryloth. His parents had made a quiet life there. His childhood was happy enough, if a bit simple, until he met a Chiss Jedi. The woman sensed the potential for the Force in young Atticus. She offered his parents to offer him the chance to train, a chance to unlock the potential within him. His earliest memories with his family became hazy as he leaned into his duty as a young student.
Training as a Padawan
His Master emphasized a love for people. That isn't to say that she taught him anything about emotions or the sensation of love but rather love as a duty. The galaxy needed Jedi, she argued. She taught him about serving the better good of the larger galaxy. These were lessons that he fixated upon.
It would prove to be both her and his undoing, however. The charity of a Jedi was no match, it seemed, for the cunning of a bunch of street thugs. Their numbers were great, and their motives were bad for both of them. His Master was slain by the thugs, and it was only by running that Atticus managed to escape a similar fate.
Following this attack on his ideals and his identity, he would smuggle himself among ships. He snuck aboard a freighter and managed to evade discovery long enough to do it again. Sometimes, he would go undetected. Other times, he would find angry ships' captain. Sometimes, he even found one who was sympathetic to the emotionally wounded Zeltron. Eventually, he was dumped off on Kasiya. He walked guided by little more than his gut, and the whispers of the Force. This is how he found himself at Sol'Vida farm.
A New Life
Acceptance
It was at Sol'Vida where Atticus would meet Vance. Despite the pathetic nature of the younger Zeltron, Vance showed an interest in the young Jedi. [1] It was against this backdrop that the Padawan started down a journey to discover and understand more about himself. Following the trip to the farm, he would be taken to a bar in the Orian System by Vance where the two would take some time to discuss what the future might hold for Atticus. [2] This caused the man to begin to face what a life beyond being a Jedi could be like, and forced him to consider his own feelings and his own emotions in ways that his apprenticeship had failed to do. He would, upon the advice of Whitlock, reach out to the Aurora Collegium on Arx, hoping to find some way to be helpful and secretly hoping to find a means to complete his training as a Padawan.
A New Family
Atticus as he appeared in 34 ABY
For several months, Atticus would find a home in the Versea Estate. Even the Matriarch, Tasha'Vel Versea took an interest in the Zeltron. He found himself back upon his homeworld, the world where his earliest memories had found him. It all seemed too good to be true. Whereas he had been with family, instead he was in the company of an odd mixture of beings. He met the servant Jelc, the Sith Shadow Bentre Stahoes, and of course the Twi'lek Tasha'Vel who all more than welcomed him. Despite his assumptions, Tasha'Vel even sought to help him strengthen his union with the Force. She tried to coach him in ways of the Jedi. She did not try to turn him from the light.
It unsettled him. He found himself at odds with his training, realizing that despite the stories he had been told, that these Sith did not want him dead. Still, he could not settle his heart. He kept Vance Whitlock at a distance, not daring to believe that they could work out. It wouldn't be until a chance encounter at The Shame Corner that his feelings would be addressed. There, Vance took Atticus in his arms and confirmed the feelings that the couple shared.
Though he was still burdened by doubts, and still sought to understand his path in the galaxy, he knew one thing. He knew that he had the heart of Vance. He would not deviate from the path of a Jedi, but something was different now. He started to realize that despite his training, that even a Jedi could love, and even a Jedi could hold more than the whole of the galaxy close to their heart.
Personal Data
Philosophy
Though he originally affiliated himself with the ideals of the Jedi, Atticus now finds himself in a remarkably obtuse position. He was taught about the dangers of the Dark Side, and very little about his own personal agency compared to the needs of the many throughout the galaxy. He still possessed a sense of duty and a love of charity. He would learn with time to both value himself and his emotions.
Employment
For a period of a few months, Corsca basically spent his life as a vagrant. After meeting up with members of the Brotherhood, he would seek some means to provide for himself nearby Arx. In the meantime, he was directed to Tasha'Vel Versea, who already employed his new companion. In exchange for giving him a small place to call his own with the understanding that she would call upon him for favors of her choosing. Some of these favors were as simple as keeping the grounds of her estate, while others could involve attending events as an assistant to the matriarch. The exact terms were not ever set into stone, but he was more than happy to do what he could to ensure he did not become a burden. He was just happy to have a place to live in peace.
Assets
Much like his Master before him, Atticus has very little in the way of personal possessions. Most of his assets, including his pet merqaal, Zinnia, are all kept in his living space on the Versea Estate. While many clutter their apartment with decorations or baubles, Atticus keeps remarkably spartan quarters. His sleeping space in particular has a small fountain to assist with meditation and a simple sleeping mat. A few pet toys do litter one corner, nearby where Zinnia's own bed lays.
