The Atemaru are Disciples of the Atema family, a handful of people trained and chosen by the members of the Atema family to be their loyal escorts and help.

Creation

Long ago, in ancient times, the people known only as the Ryu lived on an out-of-the-way Outer Rim world not charted on modern maps and not named in modern archives. Little is know of this civilization as they had no written language. It is only said that they were a religions people, true to their beliefs. A legend, written in one of their ancient, destroyed monasteries says that the wrath of the dragon god decimated their world and purged the civilization from existence.

The remnants of this civilization lived on this same world for generations. Forming a small order of monks that later Tyren Atema discovered in his Pilgrimage. On this day, the order of monks that upheld what little they knew of their ancestors, is no more and the only member left is Tyren himself.

In this order there was the great Pilgrim, usually an elderly man, full of wisdom and enlightenment. The monks turned to his wisdom to survive. A group called the Shuudan protected the Pildrim with their lives, ensuring his will would stay unchallenged.

In 28 ABY, years after his Pilgrimage, having discovered that he had a true family, Tyren Atema wished to recreate the Shuudan beliefs and the order they enforced. Now known as the Atemaru, Disciples of the Atema and the keepers of the house, the Shuudan still live through the Atema.

Function

The Atemaru are a selected few, hand picked by the true Atema members. The title is exclusive to the Atema apprentices that have successfully completed their Trials of Knighthood and gained the right to carry a saber.

The main function of the Atemaru is to keep safe the ideals and goals of the Atema family as well as body guard the Atema members when needed. As well as their ow, the Atema place the lives of their childern as well as relatives into the Atemaru's hands.

An Atemaru is quite the shadow hand of his master. It is expected of him to follow the master in any and all missions and constantly train their body and mind through the Force to enhance their abilities.

Although the Atemaru don't get the chance to wear the Atema surname and actually be part of the family, they are very much considered a part of the family and are treated as cousins in the house.

Equipment

Atemaru robes

The basic robe of the Atemaru consists of a long, loose gray coat that can be tied at the chest (or under it for women's robes). It also has 1 or two pauldrons with orange stripes, depending on rank in the DB. The coat is made of the standard material the Dark Brotherhood uses for it's robes.

Atemaru armor

Gray armor based on the original Night Hawks armor concept with a few twists. The armor is worn under the robes when the need occurs and straps tightly with the users body as it is custom fashioned for each Atemaru individually. Its bracers house a grappling hook and launcher in the left and slicing device and control panel in the right.

It comes without a helmet but standard issue goggles are strapped to the shoulders and extends to the eyes when activated. There are three options of vision:

  • Normal (With auto-adjustable contrast and brightness)
  • Thermal
  • Night Vision
