The Derriphan are a group of pure-blood Massassi warriors under allegience to Taldryan. Once part of Marka Ragnos' Sith Empire, they were secretly put into physical stasis on Antei by the Dark Lord following the exile of Okemi. With the death of Ragnos, they were lost to time until being rediscovered by Muz Ashen following the reclamation of Antei by the Dark Brotherhood. Following the events at New Tython, Taldryan was gifted with the Massassi by the Lion of Tarthos for their exceptional work during the war with the Jedi. Removed from stasis by former Grandmaster Jac Cotelin after swearing fealty to Taldryan, their sanity was restored by the Sith.

Discovery

They become our bitches, we make them even more badass.

Organization

Organized into some primative-like command, with a couple of Warchiefs. They follow Taldryan Dark Jedi exclusively, not part of our regular military at all.

Outfitting

Armours used by Derriphan Soldiers. They are largely similar, with several small modifications for different uses

Because of their unique nature and value to Taldryan, Derriphan warriors have been outfitted with some of the best protection that could be manufactured for them. Several Taldryan scientists came together to design the equipment used by the Derriphan. With Taldryan's mass amount of available resources from it's dominion, it was less than inconvenient to outfit the 2,500 Sith. Each suit has an elastic thermal bodyglove, taking into consideration the different sizes of Massasi. On top of the bodyglove, you find a titanium mesh in which the wiring sits and metal plating attaches, as well as the primary power cells for each set of armour (located within the left back area).

The top layer of each suit is reinforced Durasteel plating that overlaps and shifts as the wearer moves; this offers almost complete mobility, but allows for maximum protection. The engineers responsible for the armour allowed the Durasteel to keep it's dark grey-look, only painting a light reflective coating over the metal. Each helmet has been fitted with a scrambled comlink programmed to Taldryan-only channels and a basic heads-up display.

Several suit designs were manufactured for the various roles that the Massassi would be undertaking for their Dark Jedi leaders. Two suit designs were manufactured for what could be called the "shock troops". Another design was created for reconnaissance and paratrooper purposes; allowing for intel gathering and orbital insertion into enemy territory should it be necessary. Finally, a "heavy" version of the armour was manufactured; this suit featured twice the armoured plating as the rest, and were usually used as juggernauts to create an opening in enemy lines. Although they were outfitted with new armours developed specifically for them, the Derriphan arsenal did not receive the same treatment. All Derriphan soldiers are equipped with standard blaster rifles and pistols, as well as a melee weapon purchased through underground trade networks and corporations. While the cost of outfitting 2,500 new warriors put a sizeable dent into the purse, Taldryan economists are sure that it will recover with the continued resource gathering from it's dominion.
