Fictionally, the character of Cyris Oscura is a wonder to many of the Dark Brotherhood's members. While a devoted member during his active streaks, he has a habit of disappearing for months on end. It is suspected that he is often entrusted with secretive missions of the highest calibre by the Dark Council, while others believe that he simply earns sanctioned leaves to pursue personal quests. A silent rumor whispers that his absence is required to rebuild his life force, due to his unnatural long life.
