| Rian's father, Ne'Frey'a, was a Grand General of Shaevalis. Well-respected, and a fine warrior. He fell in love with a Hapan woman, the Queen Mother herself, Arie Rielle. They bore 3 children of triplets, Ne'Orin'a was first born, Rian was second, and Ne'Iys'i was born last. When they were much older, both parents are killed in a successful assassination on her mother as well as her sister who survived the attack, but died from her injuries shortly after. Only Rian and Orin survived since they were away.

| Orin was next in line to become a Grand General and take his father's place. Rian dropped her name and fled the planet, now going under the name of Erianna "Rayne" Rielle, the name her mother had original planned for her.
