―Cole to a deserter

Raymin Cole is the current Division V Commander. He is known as a harsh and ruthless military officer who will do whatever it takes to accomplish his mission. He we born to a military family on Eldar and attended the officer academy on Selen. He started his military career in the 9th Skirmishing Infantry Brigade and worked his way up to his current position.

Character History

Early Life

Raymin Cole was born as an only child, with a mother in the military and a poor father who worked in a munitions factory. He wanted to grow up to be like his mother, for he admired her work. When the Arconans came, she left the military, disgruntled with the perceived “tyrants”. She got a job at the munitions factory with her husband, making a meager earning but enough to support themselves and their son, between the two of them.

Cole never abandoned his dream of going into the military, and when he turned sixteen he went into the officer’s academy on Selen. He excelled at leadership, but did not make many friends at the academy. He was cold and ruthless, and very harsh on his subordinates, but he was a brilliant officer. On his nineteenth birthday he graduated, and was sent back to Eldar.

Early Days in the 9th

Raymin was placed in the 9th Skirmishing Infantry Brigade, working as a support officer. This was 18 ABY, and he served as a support officer for four years. In 22 ABY he was made Assistant Brigade Commander, but only served as such for one year. In 23 ABY he was made Brigade Commander of the 9th, and crafted the infantry troops into the most disciplined unit on Eldar

In 25 ABY he was promoted to assistant Division Commander, where he helped take charge of the Division and implement some of the same disciplinary policies he had become known for in the 9th. His work as an assistant did not go unnoticed, leading to his promotion in 27 ABY, shortly before the Yuuzhan Vong invasion.

Division Commander

When the Yuuzhan Vong came, the discipline of Division Commander Cole paid off. Division V suffered less casualties than any other division in the ground forces, although they were not regarded as having the most defensive impact. Cole was harsh on deserters, and his men followed him loyally, even if they did not actually like him.

However, the conquerors were overwhelming. When Arcona was forced to abandon the Dajorra System, there was not enough room on the fleet to evacuate all the men and women of the Division. So, Raymin Cole made preparations to unite the forces that would be remaining behind in a resistance movement against the Yuuzhan Vong.

For the next two years, they would carry out raids and attacks on the Yuuzhan Vong, slowing their Vongforming efforts and other surface scarring on Eldar. Cole did not take over the leadership of the resistance movement, but he drilled the soldiers constantly, disciplining them and punishing the deserters.

Personality

Raymin Cole was known through the armed forces of Clan Arcona as the most harsh, the cold blooded bastard and ruthless officer that did not care how many spirits were crushed on the way to creating a perfect military machine. He was useful to the Clan for this reason, but was not a well-loved man by any means.
