Unit History
The Birth of Clan Ordo
During the Clone Wars, many fierce battles were fought across the Outer Rim. Mandalore, home of the Mandalorians, was the central point for many of these conflicts. The attempted capture of Senator Padme Amidala in 19 BBY was perhaps the most devastating; Darth Sidious tasked the Mandalorian Protectors under the command of Mandalore the Resurrector with capturing the Senator, but the Sith intended to double-cross them; when the Mandalorian Protectors landed, they were ambushed by Jedi, and the only survivors were Tobbi Dala, Fenn Shysa, and the Resurrector himself.
The Protectors were slowly rebuilt thanks to the work of Fenn Shysa, but many never forgave Sidious for his betrayal, and split from Shysa’s group to form a separate Clan. They named themselves Clan Ordo, a tribute to the original Clan Ordo, active during the Jedi Civil War of 3959-3956 BBY.
Abandoning the Fett
In 23 ABY, the Mandalorian named Boba Fett became Mand’alore, replacing Fenn Shysa and ascending to the leadership of the Mandalorian Protectors. Under Fett’s leadership, the Mandalorian Protectors played a key part in the Yuuzhan Vong War- first fighting for the Vong, then switching sides after the Vong attacked Mandalore.
However, despite the reputation that Fett commanded across the galaxy, some Protectors were unhappy with the machinations of their leader and his lack of leadership. A group of these Protectors, angry at Fett’s willingness to maintain relations with Luke Skywalker’s New Jedi Order, splintered away from Fett’s Protectors and joined Clan Ordo, bolstering the ranks of the outcast Clan.
Growth and Development
A true Mandalorian is any creature, regardless of species, who can follow the [Six Codes?]. With that in mind, Clan Ordo welcomed many representatives from other species provided they could prove themselves worthy of the name Mandalorian. Squads were assembled not by species or by blood-bonds but by technical aptitude and combat effectiveness, leading to the creation of such notable squads as Shuk'orok and the Orar Kom’rk.
