Kirili, an obscure variant of the Second Lightsaber Form, Makashi, is a more defensive version of the elegant Duelist Stance. It is not a lightsaber form in its own right, rather an interpretation of the Second Form.
Explanation
The Kirili Variant of Makashi was developed by a series of Krath Warriors during the time of the Great Sith War. It offers a more defensible posture, taking advantage of the Second Form's stance and using an additional lightsaber held as a dagger to increase the effectiveness of parrying blows and feints. It was considered a lost art after the supression of the Krath Rebellion, and until the birth of the Brotherhood of Dark Jedi. An obscure cult known as the Marked of the Wanderer reintroduced the Variant to the Brotherhood through its warriors.
This style was specifically developed to counter Jedi who trained in Makashi to counter the rise of the Sith. The aggressive, elegant forms of Makashi often lead to destruction for ill-prepared Dark Jedi. To increase defensive capabilities, the Krath began carrying a second lightsaber with a shortened blade, held inverted in the non-dominate hand. This offers a second, more flexible option for grappling, quick strikes, and parries. The dagger is especially emphasized for feints, drawing an opening as their opponent attempts to block the more versatile blade.
Adherents
