Talk:Kirili

From Wikipedia of the Dark Brotherhood, an online Star Wars Club

Unless approved by the GM/DGM, this lightsaber form does not exist, and as such should be removed from the wiki--Halcyon 16:42, 23 September 2007 (MDT)

The Kirili Variant was formalized during the time of Xanos Zorrixor as DGM, and thereby approved. He even listed it on his article. -Trev
DGM's cannot approve fictional changes, only a GM can. So if Jac says he approved it, then it's official...if not, sorry Trev. --Kir Taldrya Katarn 18:45, 24 September 2007 (MDT)
I also think anything custom-added for DB use should be available to more than just a handful of people. Otherwise everyone and their mother will want to create their own thing and have it made official. --Shadow Taldrya 19:00, 24 September 2007 (MDT)
From what I know, Goat did not "approve" this, and Jac for sure did not approve this or the Long fighting form. Nor would he have. So unless you get approval now, this doesn't exist--Halcyon 20:20, 24 September 2007 (MDT)
From what I remember of a conversation I had with Trev about this last year or so, my understanding of Kirili at the time was that it was just meant to be a carbon copy of Makashi given a different name by the original Star Chamber Krath due to being developed indepedently of the Jedi version. To that extent I do seem to vaguely recall talking it over with Muz and eventually saying he could use it but only in a similar vein to how the canon Juyo and Vapaad styles are basically two alternate names for the same thing. I'd probably suggest scrapping the page as it is now and just replacing it with something like:
Kirili is another name for the Makashi Form of lightsaber combat. It was developed indepedently by so-and-so...blah, blah, blah.
I remember Jac as DGM approving most of the fictional stuff so I can see why Trev may have constituted my words at the time as a formal "approval". I never really intended it as such (at least, not in the sense of making it an official Form on the same level as all those in the Lightsaber Guide, as I've always been very picky about unofficial Forms) but, similarly, I expect I probably was rather vague at the time so I can see where there may have been a misunderstanding. I confess I never have liked the page using the exact same formatting as the other Form pages, as it does make it come across as a wholly distinct Form too much, so I think a simple explanatory page about it being another name for Makashi would work better, maybe with just its historic origins and the reason for two names. If that was done though I'd recommend including a "Behind the Scenes" section at the bottom making clear its an original DB creation so it doesn't end up on Wookieepedia or anything... fanon lightsaber Forms have a habit of becoming canon. coughtrakatacough --Xanos 07:20, 25 September 2007 (MDT)

I've had a discussion with Muz, and we've reached an appropriate understanding. Give me a day or two, and I'll make the proper adjustments. - Trev

One more time. I'll give a decision on this shortly. --Sarin 15:52, 25 September 2007 (MDT)

If this is just like Makashi, then just merge it into a section at the bottom of that page, and get rid of this one. That's my idea, at least :P --Aabs 23:19, 13 October 2007 (MDT)

Six years later. The answer is still no. --GM Sarin 22:40, 26 July 2013 (MDT)
