Since the Exodus, the granting of operator status within #DB has been a haphazard affair. Those who have given access have done it along separate lines with separate numbers as guides for who should have what. Because of this, we have current Consuls above current Dark Council members, with former Summit members all over the list and a great many additional individuals who most likely have no place with operator access within the channel. Generally speaking, this has not been a problem. However, at the urging of many on the Dark Summit, the Grand Master has commissioned this proposal to standardize the access levels of operators within #DB.

Standardization of Operator Status within #DB

Introduction

Since the Exodus, the granting of operator status within #DB has been a haphazard affair. Those who have given access have done it along separate lines with separate numbers as guides for who should have what. Because of this, we have current Consuls above current Dark Council members, with former Summit members all over the list and a great many additional individuals who most likely have no place with operator access within the channel. Generally speaking, this has not been a problem. However, at the urging of many on the Dark Summit, the Grand Master has commissioned this proposal to standardize the access levels of operators within #DB.

The Standards

A diverse group holds access within #DB, including special advisors, the Dark Summit, and former Grand Masters. Over time, many individuals have been added to the access list and have not been removed. In standardizing the access levels, these individuals would be removed. Only those belonging to one of the categories below will maintain access in #DB at the levels stated below.

  • Non Dark Summit Advisors: 75 Access
  • Member of the Dark Summit: 150 Access
  • Member of the Dark Council: 300 Access
  • Former Grand Masters (Except in the case of channel ownership): 400 Access
  • Deputy Grand Master: 400 Access
  • Justicar: 450 Access
  • Current Grand Master: 499 Access
  • The Grand Master may, at any time, increase the access levels of someone on this list, though this will be done very rarely.
  • The Justicar may grant special access to the Left Hand of Justice equal to that of a Semi-Dark Council Officer if he so chooses.

Conclusion and Time Line

Within a week of the passing of this proposal, the access levels of #DB shall be redone and standardized to fit within the new model described above. If a member s to receive operator privileges within #DB after the passage of this proposal, they will receive them according to the model above. This proposal should finally eliminate the multiple layers of access in #DB, allowing finally for one standard system that all can follow.
