Character History
Early life
Arian was born to Israth and Damia Crass in the year 12 ABY on the planet of Bastion. During his childhood, Arian and his family had to deal with the constant turbulence of living in the Imperial Remnant. The family had been on Bastion for generations, before the Empire came there, but generally were happy with Imperial rule. Despite the constant uncertainty in the times after the Empire start to collapse, the family was content with the Remnant. Arian's father, Israth, worked as a low level administrator in the Imperial offices. Damia, his mother, worked as a tailor, generally making and altering Imperial uniforms. From a young age, Arian found himself absorbed in the history of the Empire. Much of his time as a youth was spend pouring over Imperial histories, especially interested in Palpatine's forming of the Empire and his second in command, Darth Vader.
Yuuzhan Vong War
Arian was only thirteen when the Yuuzhan Vong began their invasion of the galaxy. For a while the Vong seemed to ignore the Remnant, and Arian could care less what happened to the New Republic. As the invasion continued and it seemed that the Remnant would be drug into the war after all, Arian lied about his age and joined the Imperial Navy as a fighter pilot. This is when he first discovered what he later came to understand as his connection to the Force. Piloting felt instinctive to him, despite much experience prior to joining the Navy. By the time of the Battle of Bastion, Arian had become second in command of a TIE Interceptor squadron. His unit was not in the area when the Yuuzhan Vong attacked Bastion, and Arian was dismayed at his inability to defend his homeworld. After learning that his parents had been killed on Bastion, Arian turned in on himself, spending as much time as possible improving his flight skills. Despite his ever improving capabilities as a figher pilot and his new found hatred of the Vong, Arian's unit saw only minor action before the end of the war.
Post War Era
When the war ended, Arian was disgusted with the Empire joining the Galactic Alliance. He resigned from the military and spent some months wandering, discovering more about his ability in the Force. After run ins with several Jedi who commented on his potential, Arian seriously considered seeking out the Jedi for training. Eventually he decided against it, understanding that the Jedi weren't exactly in a good political position. Using what little material he could get his hands on, he focused on honing his connection with the Force. This ineffective self training continued until 33ABY, when he was contacted by a secretive man whom he later learned was a Dark Jedi. Realize this as his chance to further his training away from the Alliance and the Jedi Order, he accepted the man's request to come train with a group calling themselves the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. He gathered what little belongings he had and boarded a shuttle for an unknown location.
Time at the Brotherhood
The shuttle took him to the Shadow Academy, where the Brotherhood trained its members. Arian excelled at his initial tests and was accepted to train at the Academy. Learning this whole world, previously unknown to him, Arian found himself gravitating to the Order of the Obelisk. Ever since the death of his parents, Arian had constantly pushed himself to improve his abilities, and that mentality fit in perfectly with the Obelisk. Soon after starting his training at the Academy, Arian met a man not much older than himself, Locke Sonjie. Though both were introverted, they found they got along well. Although only a year older than Arian, Locke was a Dark Jedi Knight, and it was soon decided that Arian would be his apprentice. Arian poured hours into his studies, reading materials and taking courses at the Academy. His effort paid off, as he found himself advancing quickly, eventually rising to the rank of Acolyte. Arian is currently continuing his studies at the Academy, and has recently started combat training at the Antei Combat Center, working towards earning his training lightsaber.
