A contingent of the Arcona Armed Forces (AAF) Medic Corps and held under House Galeres, the Galeres Field Medic Corps (GAL:FMC) is made up of members from it's hosting House. The GAL:FMC is also affiliated with the Dajorran Marshals and has several members amongst the Battleteam's ranks. Because it is technically attached to the Arconan Armed Forces, it's not unusual for exceptionally talented or qualified medics from the former to earn a spot amongst the Galeres unit; moreover, medical instructors employed by the GAL:FMC often train and recruit members of Clan Erinos who show promise in medicine, as well.
Formation of the Unit
The idea for the formation of the GAL:FMC came to Sivall soon after the incident on Gethsemane, where a space cruise liner crashed into the moon's surface, causing a humanitarian crisis. While members of Galeres originally though the mission was only a recovery of the ship's core and blackbox, survivors were quickly found in the rubble.
When the mission was over, Sivall sat down and thought about what could have been done differently. In an attempt to save the lives of the members of the house, as well as any survivors, she founded and formed the Galeres Medic Corps-- doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals that would be trained in Field Medicine and Trauma Surgery and sent out with groups during missions.
Base of Operations
Although its terrestrial headquarters can be found on Fort Blindshot due to its connection to House Galeres, much of the GAL:FMC's operations are planned and operated from its flagship, a Quasar Fire-class Cruiser Carrier. It has been converted into a massive mobile hospital, allowing GAL:FMC personnel to administer aid to numerous patients across the Dajorra System.
