History
According to the memories of its few force-sensitive inhabitants, Thanadris was originally constructed as a Jedi Waystation millenia ago during the age of the Old Republic.Under the stewardship of the Exploration Corps, it served to supply and prepare Jedi for missions in the Southern Outer Rim Territories.
In the late era of the Old Republic, Thanadris fell into abandonment when the Sith Empire began subjugating surrounding sectors into the fold. Because of its location and status, it remained unfound within Interitus Cairn’s forests.
After the Sith Empire’s collapse during the Great Hyperspace War, Thanadris was repopulated and used once more as a waystation as well as a training ground and academy for members of the Jedi Service Corps.
When the Emergences occurred in the nearby sectors to their north in 232 BBY, some fragments had reached as far south as the Caelus system and struck near Interitus Cairn’s capital. The Masters and Jedi of the Service Corps that were stationed at Thanadris went to the capital’s aid to assist with the search for survivors. What they were unaware of, however, was that this had just been the beginning. A second fragment of the Emergence struck just outside of the capital. It not only wiped out the capital, but the entirety of the Service Corps that had gone to assist.
The electrostatic discharge from the strike reached as far out as Thanadris, destroying the entirety of its mechanical systems on the surface. With contact severed from Thanadris, the survivors having fled to safer areas, the Jedi Order did not realize there were survivors. Seeing the devastating fallout and complete destruction of the capital city, now replaced by a massive lava lake, the Jedi Order saw Interitus Cairn as a loss.
After the fall of Starlight Beacon by the Nihil in 230 BBY, however, Thanadris was largely forgotten in its entirety and became obscure in the Order’s records allowing it to remain unfound.
Over the decades and centuries that followed, some of the Padawans dissipated into other areas of the world, joining with other survivors and becoming regular people; leaving behind the Jedi ways. Only a few Padawans and Knights remained at the Thanadris ruins, but they were unable to access Thanadris’ lower levels due to only the now deceased Masters knowing the secrets to bypass the traps and seals.
As growth and seismic eruptions plagued the land in the times ahead, the lower levels became all but forgotten and left behind. Gradually the few began to grow into larger numbers as generations passed, retaining their force-sensitivity and Jedi-style morals. Serving as peacekeepers and mediators, much like the days of the High Republic, they refused to become involved in conflicts unless it was absolutely necessary. Requests to be a part of politics in surrounding tribes and groups were ignored, opting instead to remain a neutral party and never take sides.
Eventually in 40 ABY, the tribe was came across by accident due to the exploration of Lady Second Cassandra Oriana Taldrya, the Supreme Chancellor of the Taldryan Republic at the time. Interitus Cairn’s seismic activity and tsunami risks had reduced significantly in recent years, especially in the areas surrounding the large forests in the northwestern regions.
With the Dalicron War still in full swing, and internal fighting continuing between the two major factions of the Republic, she wanted to find a home for refugees from the war as well as those internally who wanted to get away from the conflicts. She had not expected to find much, but instead an organized group of force-sensitive Proto-Jedi that upheld the ways.
After realizing she too followed the Jedi ways and was not a threat to them, they all but immediately offered selflessly to help her find them homes where they could live in peace. Spending time with them, she came to learn that they had desires to grow within the Order once more and reestablish the old ways.
While she was not knowledgeable in the ways of a Master, at least yet, nor as an instructor in the Jedi ways, there were those who did know that she could reach out to. And in return for their aid in helping outsiders, she would see to it that their wish would be fulfilled. To that end, she reached out to the Masters of Clan Odan-Urr for their aid and assistance in beginning the groundwork for rebuilding Thanadris and establishing a formal order for them and their children to start growing within.
