Arete was a Battleteam within House Qel-Droma of Clan Arcona that consisted of the renown warriors and tacticians within House Qel-Droma. This group tended to handle the more sensitive of missions that get would normally be given to the Arcona Contract Bureau, or when answering the call of the Consul. The last Commander of Arete is Celevon Edraven.
History
Originally developed as a Battleteam that answered to only the Consul and Proconsul of Arcona, Arete was formed to house the elite of both houses of the Shadow Clan. Not long after this, the group was merged in as a third Battleteam within House Qel-Droma to bear the elite fighters and strategists of that House.
After the departure of the original Executive Officer, Timeros unexpectedly stepped down from the position, taking over the part of XO. The new Commander was named as a familiar face to the Elder, a protege of his in the art of lightsaber combat: Celevon Edraven.
The Assassin took the original idea of the group and added onto it, taking the more sensitive of missions that required more finesse to keep allies of the Shadow Clan. It was also to keep the members skills sharp and honed for battle, rather than stagnating with mere practice.

Weapons
Each member was encouraged to choose their own arsenal of weapons to utilize in combat to further mark their unique individuality. For example, the Commander carried his lightsaber, a katana and a curved dagger called a ‘Kerambit’ whereas the XO carried a pair of lightsabers and a pair of Westar-34 Blasters. Similarly, whereas Invictus carried his Sapphire Blade, his lightsaber and a pair of echani daggers, Revs carried his armory lightsaber and a blaster pistol.
Attire
As it is with their weaponry, members of Arete were encouraged to choose their own battle attire. When summoned before their leaders in the Summit, there was no need to signify where they belong as the members themselves are known to their Leaders. Aside from this, the small group were notable in that they stood apart from others and kept a wary eye upon everyone around them. If possible, they would stand in the four corners of the room, silently observing the others.
