History
Creation
After the actions seen in the Vong Incursion as well as the Reclamation of Judecca, it was decided that the Naval forces of the clan needed to be strengthened with the addition of a good Marine force. The need for ship to ship forces as well as protection against boarders that had arisen, showed the military leaders of Scholae Palatinae a weakness in their lines. Grand Marshal Lucien Kaeth working together with other members of the military council created the Scholae Palatinae Marine Corps.
Placed under the leadership of Sith Warrior Ric "Blade" Hunter, the Marine Corps was formed with volunteers from the Legions as well as new recruits. Training in orbit around Dynasty Station as well as the old ship yards around Ptolomea, the force began to perfect the tactics it would employ in any future war.
Weapons and Gear
Marines are usually deployed using the MAAT/SOC Gunship and MAAT/i assault craft. These were designed to carry a platoon each and are well suited for assaulting other ships as well as reinforcing friendly ships that have been boarded or captured. One of the main designers of the updated MAAT type craft is Ric "Blade" Hunter, the High General in command of the Marine Corps.
To help the Marines, a special armor was developed for their use. This armor is more flexible as well as airtight to allow them to operate in the vacuum of space for short time periods.
In an effort to better synchronize the Clan’s membership with the new military of Scholae Palatinae, the Grand Marshal, Lucien Kaeth, has instituted Marshal Plan Charlie. Effective immediately, and in all times of war as declared by the Senate of Scholae Palatinae, the military will be under full command of the Dark Jedi Forces of Scholae Palatinae.
Members will be assigned command of troops based on rank. The number and type of troops will depend on a number of factors, most notably, Dark Jedi rank and prestige. This scale takes into account a number of factors including standing within the Clan as well as nobility.
There are differences within the branches of military when it comes to types of command that a Dark Jedi can strive for. The Grand Marshal has provided details below. Please note that the new details may mean that some members will have to change branches of the military for the time being.
One note before the details: you are free to opt out of the military at any time. You can choose not to participate in the military at all and above all else, your Battleteam, House, and Clan come first before military service. These ranks, save a select few, and the War Council, are for times of declared war ONLY. It is during these times that you will be mobilized and given command. During times of 'peace' the units will revert to NPC command.
Ranks
The ranks of the Marines are based roughly on those of the Legions and those of the TIE Corps.
Officers
Commissioned Officers are the managers, problem-solvers, key influencers and planners who lead Enlisted troopers in all situations. They have the skills, the training, and the character needed to inspire and encourage others. They embrace and embody the Core Marine Values and apply them to every decision they make and every action they take. An Officer’s rank can range from Officer Candidate to Space Marshal.

Enlisted Ranks
Enlisted Soldiers put plans into action. Much like employees at a company, Enlisted Soldiers perform specific job functions and have the knowledge that ensures the success of their unit’s current mission within the Marines. An Enlisted Soldier’s rank can range from Private to Sergeant Major or Mastery Gunnery Sergeant.

Marine Unit Structure
Each ship in the Fleet has a unit of Marines assigned to it. The larger the ship, the larger the force of Marines assigned to it. Since the very nature of the Corps is ship to ship action and ship defense, the units are composed differently than the ones employed by the Legions. The major difference between the Legions and the Marine Corps is the size of the unit. A balance was struck based on the size of the unit and the force needed to successfully defend friendly ships as well as assault enemy vessels.
