Information
The Dreadnaught was originally a heavy cruiser dating back to the times of the Old Republic. A worthy and capable vessel, it has survived still even in this much more advanced age, albeit in a less vital role. The Taldryan Modified Dreadnaught was originally a pirate Dreadnaught named Lions Eye, and this vessel was Taldryan's prize for their efforts in winning a Great Jedi War. The Taldryan Modified Dreadnaught underwent rapid deconstruction and revitalization after it was received into the hands of Clan Taldryan. Command consoles were ripped out, the computer core was removed, and new droid operated interfaces were installed, decreasing the standard Dreadnaught's horrific crew requirements down from 16,000 to 8,000. Some of the crew quarters were converted into extra soldiers' barracks, raising the onboard troop compliment to 5,000 troops. The old ion engines were ripped out and sold for scrap, replaced by modern, high-powered ion engines, almost doubling the Dreadnaught's sublight speed. Additional turbolaser cannons and batteries were added, honing the razor edge of the Dreadnaught's killing ability. A new shield system was installed, significantly upgrading protection.
History
Clan Taldryan was victorious in the Second Great Jedi War the Brotherhood fought, and therefore was granted an award by then-Grand Master Thedek. This award took the form of the Modified Dreadnaught "Dark Seraphim", a massive battle cruiser that had been modified with increased automation to bring down the original massive crew requirements. The Dreadnaught served as the flagship of Clan's fleet until they were awarded a Victory-Class Star Destroyer following the next Great Jedi War. The ships name was chosen by the members of Clan Taldryan, who presented options and then voted on the final choice.
