Tyno is a Jedi Knight and Acolyte of House Odan-Urr. He has no memory of his early life prior to 18 ABY and was raised by his adopted Mandalorian uncle Kaneth. Tyno has spent time as an archeologist, historian, bounty hunter, and later a self trained Jedi prior to joining the brotherhood and later Odan-Urr. When the the Acolytes of Odan-Urr were discovered he defected immediately however he maintains hope that one day he will be able to show his former friends the path back into the light. While trained as a part of the culture Tyno isn't openly Mandalorian and follows the tenets very loosely. Tyno does however place great importance on personal honor and loyalty.
Character History
Awakening (18 ABY)
Tyno is unable to remember anything prior to awakening from a coma in 18 ABY on Concord Dawn in the house of his adopted uncle Kaneth, a Mandalorian who had served in the clone wars. Kaneth took Tyno under his wing and taught him the ways of Mandalorian culture and trained him in everything from etiquette, combat techniques and starship piloting. His uncle would also reveal to him that he was force sensitive and the dangers such abilities held. With these latent force abilities he soon became a skilled warrior and grew very close to his uncle.
Unfortunately Kaneth was killed by a Black Sun assassin several years later during a dispute in a local cantina. Vowing to avenge him if he ever found the coward responsible Tyno honored him with a traditional Mandalorian burial. Inheriting his uncle’s home, Mandalorian battle armor and StarViper, he left Concord Dawn to explore the galaxy.
Beginning the Path (23 ABY)
During this time Tyno became very interested in the history of the galaxy and found himself often on strange worlds in search of ancient ruins. Taking up the trade of an archeologist he visited many worlds and developed an interest in the Jedi order. It was while investigating one ruined Jedi temple that he was ambushed by a gang of space pirates who had followed him from his last stop with the intention of stealing his StarViper. Knocked unconscious after narrowly dodging an attack from the pirate fighters he could only watch in dismay as his ship shot out of the atmosphere and the pirates left him for dead.
Trapped on an otherwise uninhabited world with few options, Tyno began searching the ruins. Upon entering he felt a sudden chill along his spine and the air felt heavy, something was not right here. Tyno instantly noticed carbon scoring on the walls and old footprints in the dirt. He had encountered imperial storm troopers on several prior occasions and the obvious side by side precise prints could only belong to them. Following the prints lead to a large room full of seats, in the middle laid a skeleton in tattered robes. It became all too clear that this had been the hiding place of a Jedi who survived the purge. Kaneth had told him of the Jedi Knights and how at the end of the clone wars they were hunted down and killed by the new Galactic Empire.
By luck or fate he discovered the imperial troops had missed a hidden passage leading to a cramped hanger. Within the chamber was a small cache of Jedi knowledge that had been saved, it was this knowledge that would start Tyno on his path to the force. However the greatest find was an old but functional Eta-2 Actis light Interceptor starfighter that had been the Jedi knight’s transportation. Taking only a short time to bypass the aged security systems he found the fighter had some extensive modifications specifically an onboard hyperdrive. After storing the Jedi data in the cargo hold of his new ship Tyno blasted his way out of the hanger and set a course for Concord Dawn, determined to retrieve his uncles starfighter while causing as much pain for the pirates responsible as possible.
The Weapon of a Jedi Knight (23 ABY)
Tyno returned to Concord Dawn and hid the relics he discovered in the safety of Kaneth’s home, his uncle had always liked his privacy and the home was more akin to a bunker. Hidden within a cliff side and equipped with top of the line security and sensor damping it was the safest place he knew. It was while unloading the relics that one item caught his eye, a silver metallic cylinder with a handcrafted beauty. When he pressed the activation stud the brilliant green blade snapped into existence, Tyno had never encountered such a magnificent weapon.
He knew it could take time for his contacts in the criminal underworld to find the StarViper. The security systems alone on the ship would take weeks for the pirates to bypass. Tyno spent the next two months pouring through the Jedi holocrons eager to learn everything about the Jedi and the force, developing skill with the lightsaber and refurbishing the Eta-2. He found that most of the key systems were in pristine condition. Aside from the onboard hyperdrive the ship had also been modified with extremely light but effective shield generator, however without an astromech droid the ship would not perform at peak effectiveness.
When his contacts finally responded Tyno was ready, his vengeance would be swift against the pirates who had stolen Kaneth’s ship. Leaving Concord Dawn he plotted his course for Nar Shaddaa.
