Information
The Victory-class Star Destroyer was originally designed during the Clone Wars. The Galactic Republic used the Victory-class extensively in its final days, as did the Empire. These ships, which exhibit the common "dagger" warship shape, can function in a variety of roles, and are even capable of atmospheric travel. However, despite their size, Victories are somewhat slow in normal space. The vessel is capable of three purposes: planetary defense, planetary assault and troop support, and ship-to-ship combat. One of these vessel's most powerful advantages is the ability to enter the upper levels of a planet's atmosphere, something the newer Star Destroyers cannot do. This permits precision ground attacks and the pursuit of smaller craft hoping to escape by diving toward a planet.
History
After basically sweeping the Third Great Jedi War, Grand Master Zoraan sought out an appropriate gift to grant Clan Taldryan. After deliberating, the Brotherhood's leader chose to give Taldryan a Victory-Class Star Destroyer. The original name has been lost to the annals of history, however the VSD was renamed the "Cantor" in honor of Keirdagh 'Yacks' Cantor, one of Taldryan's most revered leaders. Under Consul Kir Taldrya Katarn it was renamed the "Dark Prophet" (one of Keirdagh 'Yacks' Cantor's nicknames) to prevent confusion of the ship with the famous Brotherhood family.
The Victory-Class Star Destroyer was the flagship of the clan's fleet for many years, up until it's loss in the Vong Incursion. The Dark Prophet was destroyed in the initial attacks protecting the rest of the fleet as they moved into the Shroud. The Clan's pride had been shaken, but it only made them fight harder.
