Taruma resides in the Kr'Tal System, which is currently under control by Taldryan. It is the second orbit of Kr'Tal, the system's star, and is ripe for habitation. Both House Ektrosis and House Dinaari were housed here, each with their separate temples in different regions. Phoenix Phyle has made their home in the Ektrosis Temple.
History
Taruma is the second planet from the star. Its rich atmosphere, and large size made it ideal for supporting the growth of abundant life. The biosphere of Taruma is diverse and varied, creating a planet as rich in beauty, as it is in mineral resource. A naturally forming crevasse along the equator have yielded yellow and green gems which have been found to have properties similar to that of Adegan and Corusca stones. Among the three main continents, vast forests and mountain ranges melt into sand deserts and dry grasslands. The planet is 53 percent water, and the wide seas have yet to be explored to any great extent.
The Malnek, a sapient race of Mammalian Bipeds call Taruma home, having grown and evolved there independently of outside influence. Their clan-based culture made it easy to relate our own system once a means of non-verbal communication was determined. The use of the Force is routinely required to pass along information with any efficiency to the Malnek, who poses no ability to vocalize in most hearing ranges and hear vibrations through a specialized gland in their necks. The Malnek have proven friendly to colonization and willingly assisted the Houses in the construction of their massive stone temples, proving to be skilled artisans as well as laborers. The sharing of technology and science is kept to a minimum at the request of the ruling elders, who wish for a more natural development for their people.
Taruma is orbited by a single satellite, a moon by the name of Oyonea, the Malnek name for the Nocturnal God many worship.
Both House Dinaari and House Ektrosis called the planet of Taruma home. The Dinaarians made their home upon the northern, heavily forested continent of Folgan while the Ektrosians constructed a massive temple upon the mid-equatorial continent of Silah. The House Temples were the largest buildings on the planet for many years until the cliff-side construction of the Library of Lears off the coast of Silah, by House Ektrosis.
Oyonea
Taruma is orbited by a single satellite, a moon by the name of Oyonea, the Malnek name for the Nocturnal God many worship. At 5,000 meters wide, Oyonea is fairly large in consideration to its host planet which causes a massive swell in tide upon the planet. The moon has a breathable atmosphere of oxygen and nitrogen, despite the lack of local fauna or creatures. The barren surface is host to a large number of craters and pock-marks, evidence of the moon’s role as a vacuum cleaner, sweeping stellar debris from the sky before it can strike Taruma.
