Seith Ornil is a Lieutenant from Boz Pity currently assigned to the Rapax Squadron. Born into an aristocratic family, he is a highly educated man and a skilled pilot. Being an incredibly militant man, Seith is cold, calculating, and held in extremely high regard for his work in both the Imperial Navy and in Tarentum's naval fleets.
Personality and Appearance
Personality and Hobbies
Having grown up with a traditional military family and attending schools geared towards a military lifestyle Seith is a cold and orderly man. His life revolves primarily around schedules in which, as executive officer, he often takes secret pleasure subjugating the squadron members to. As a legalist, Seith holds the laws Tarentum imposes upon the Yridia System in the utmost esteem, often quoting legal legislation and using his rank in the military to ensure that it is enforced to the letter.
In Seith's free time he is typically found in his quarters indulging in his secret pleasure: old Imperial holodramas produced for propaganda purposes. His personal collection contains hundreds of episodes which he watches with a fervor not seen since the hay day of the Empire. When not in his quarters Seith can be found by the simulators, evaluating his pilots' scores and providing often not-so-constructive criticism.
Appearance
Seith is a tall, athletic man. While his age is beginning to show in his face his physique has done everything but suffered during the passage of time due, in no small part, to the rigorous lifestyle of a career pilot. Seith keeps his face clean shaven and his hair cropped short in a typically Imperial fashion and his uniform is kept in an immaculate condition.
History
Boz Pity and the Carida Academy
Seith Ornil was born on the independent planet Boz Pity in 8 BBY to a wealthy, aristocratic family and consistently attended the best schools the sector had to offer. When he was 18 he was sent by his parents to the Carida Military Academy where he studied astronavigation and leadership. In spite of coming from a backwater planet (when compared with Core Worlds like Carida) Seith's scores were astronomical, impressing even his most tough and skeptical instructors. Graduating fourth in his class after only four years Seith was immediately offered a commission in the Imperial Navy as the squadron leader of the TIE Fighter unit Hexchen Squadron (a relatively new squad based on the Victory I-class Star Destroyer Wachtor).
VSD Wachtor and the 119th Imperial Fighter Group
While based aboard the Wachtor Seith's TIE squadron saw very little action until midway through 18 ABY. They were primarily assigned to small scale patrols in well secured areas and the occasional exploratory mission into the Unknown Regions. By the time the ship was recalled to the front to defend against Admiral Ackbar's renewed offensive against the Remnant Seith had been promoted to the rank of Captain and had earned the respect of his fellows who, due to the safe nature of their missions, had taken very few casualties over the years.
During the first few engagements against Ackbar's forces the Wachtor distinguished itself as a reliable and tenacious piece of the Imperial Navy. The ship was particularly glorified by its inexperienced, though tenacious, pilots whom, in spite of heavy casualties, made ace at an almost alarming rate. Seith himself acquired the title after only four engagements with New Republic forces, scoring 3 dated Y-Wings, an X-Wing and a B-Wing. Shortly afterward he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander and placed in charge of the 119th Imperial Fighter Group (the entire complement of TIEs off of the Wachtor).
However, despite the Wachtor's early successes during the campaign, the ship was cornered and destroyed at the Battle of Anx Minor (one of the final major engagements between New Republic and Imperial forces), stranding its entire TIE cadre in the chaos of the battle. Though the TIE pilots continued to fight bravely, when the EX-F was destroyed and Pellaeon ordered a general retreat the TIEs were forgotten and left behind. Surrendering to the New Republic forces left Seith disgraced in the eyes of his peers and superiors and, like many Imperial officers taken prisoner during the war, Seith was allowed to return home with the promise that he would not take up arms with the Empire again.
Returning Home and the Tarentum Navy
While many such officers deigned to join the New Republic Starfighter Command (or Navy in the case of fleet officers) Seith returned to Boz Pity in shame. However the planet had come under the influence of a mysterious Dark Jedi cult which looked to the many veterans returning home from the war to enter both their newly formed military and cities to be transplanted to Yridia IV. Seeing the chance at redemption for his failure at Anx Minor Seith acquiesced to the heavy propaganda campaign and took up the yoke of a fighter craft once again. He joined the Tarentum Navy, commissioned as a Lieutenant Junior Grade, where he fought valiantly until being promoted to full Lieutenant and assigned to Rapax Squadron under Lieutenant Commander Ji K'awiil.
