Mission
Taldryan's Battle Group I, nicknamed Vanguard, consists of the most deadly and destructive forces that Taldryan's Navy can bring to bear in battle. Contained within it are the ships dedicated to serving a single purpose, to wreak havoc and destruction upon enemy forces. Vanguard is as it's name suggests, the tip of Taldryan's spear when entering into battle, capable of bullying it's way into any opposing system or enemy force, and dealing wholesale destruction. As such, it is outfitted with the finest strongest ships in the Taldryan Navy, as well as the most advanced and formidable starfighters in Taldryan's Starfighter Command.
Command Structure
As a fully functional Battle Group, Vanguard has a strict command structure that it adheres to at all times. Operational command of the Battle Group falls to Battle Group Commander Admiral Chaf'arha'nuruodo, who commands from the Taldryan flagship Justice. The Battle Group Executive Officer is Rear Admiral Shalla Arundel, aboard the Dark Prophet II.
Aboard each individual ship, the captain of the ship is lord and commander, there is no higher authority for onboard personnel than the captain of the vessel. Attached Squadrons will report to a Wing Commander if applicable, who will then report to the captain for orders.
In times of joint Battle Group operations, Battle Group I, and the CSD Justice are where High Admiral Tak Vordin keeps his flag, transforming it into the command vessel for the entire Taldryan Navy. Admiral Chaf'arha'nuruodo maintains direct control of the forces within Battle Group I, but follows the orders of the High Admiral.

The Bothan Assault Cruiser Dark Prophet II is the second most powerful ship in Taldryan's Battle Group I. Designed to replace the aging Victory Class Star Destroyer by the Bothan Military, the Bothan Assault Cruiser surpassed the Victory Star Destroyer in fighter capacity, armament shield and armoring, making it a truly formidable ship of the line. It is commanded by Battle Group II's executive officer, Rear Admiral Shalla Arundel.
The Dark Prophet II is home to Taldryan's Third Starfighter Wing and is the permanent base for Taldryan's elite Starfighter squadron, Hyperion Flight.
VIN Valor

The Vindicator-class heavy cruiser Valor was one of the Empire's ubiquitous Heavy Cruisers before being acquired by Taldryan. Commanded by Captain Nara Odbris, this ship, while formidably armed, is considered to be the secondary starfighter carrier for Battle Group I. Like so many Vindicator-class cruisers, the Valor was designed to be able to carry six squadrons of fighters, making it essentially a heavily armed and armored escort carrier.
The Valor is home to the Fourth & Fifth Starfighter Wings of Taldryan's Starfighter Command. Outfitted with a variety of TIE Advanced, TIE Hunter & Assault Gunboat Squadrons, the Valor is well equipped to handle any threat that presents itself.
