Armoured Infantry
Numbering just 8000, the Armoured infantry are trained to work with the armour assigned to each of the two brigades. The Clan’s complement of 50 AT-TE walkers is split evenly between the two brigades and each are supplanted by 50 74-7 speeder bikes.
History
The Armoured Infantry brigades only saw action in the recent Yuuzhan Vong Invasion, during which they were both tasked with protecting the Citadel. Unfortunately, both units received heavy casualties as even their superior firepower was no match for sheer weight of numbers. It is expected that the Armoured Infantry Brigades will be reformed when Arcona retake Dajorra.
Deployment
As the Armoured Infantry Brigades are far too small to protect a planet, let alone an entire system, they were been concentrated on Selen and Eldar, with one brigade to defend the Capital and the Citadel, and the other to patrol the Provinces of Eldar and support the financial backbone of Arcona’s economy. As the walkers are aging and clone wars era, they are kept away from the front lines and as such the Expeditionary Force doesn’t make use of them, instead preferring units of elite commandos supported by short range bombers such as K-Wings in most operations.
Equipment
Kitted out similarly to the Skirmishing Infantry, the Armoured Infantry are ironically not given heavy armour plates to protect them and rely on their mobility and flexibility to allow them to be a decisive fighting force. In a standard platoon, the only major difference from the Skirmishing Infantry units are the replacing the E-Web and Mortar units with engineer units to maintain the various walkers and speeders assigned to the armour brigades.
