The Baron was an Imperial II-Class Star Destroyer under the jurisdiction of the Clan Plagueis Naval Command. She has been there since being acquired after the Eighth Great Jedi War. She once acted as the Flagship of the Clan Plagueis Fleet.

The Baron was constructed under the guidance of the Kuat Drive Yards in 25 ABY at the Xa Fel facility with the intent of being sold to the Corporate Sector Authority.

Archie served on board the VAC Ambition as Navigation Officer during the Invasion of Jusadih. When the ship was boarded and the CO and XO were killed by the Yuuzhan Vong, Archie took command of the ship and was able to clear the entire ship of the Vong invaders. His valour and courage during the battle earned him a promotion to Commander and an eventual placement as Executive Officer of the newly acquired ISDII The Baron.
