Each of the Clans has a history and power all their own, brought about and manipulated by personal and Clan interests, as well as the forces that have acted upon the Clans.  These "Schools," sometimes referred to as "Clan Powers," are secrets jealously guarded by each of the Clan.  Those who have mastered the secrets through time and training are given abilities that are generally not mimicked by any other Dark Sider outside of their respective Clan.  Those who either leave the Clan, or are expelled from it, are denied those abilities through various rituals that strip the Clan's secrets from these cast out members.

  • Shadowcrafting: Control over natural darkness and shadows and heightened perception in darkness.

Clan Naga Sadow

  • Telekinetics: Details mastery of the energy fabric of the universe.

Clan Plagueis

Clan Scholae Palatinae

  • Animalism: The abilities to control and possess characteristics of animals.

Clan Taldryan

  • Elementalism: Power and mastery over the five elements wind, water, earth, fire, and electricity.

Clan Tarentum

  • Necromancy: Powers over the forces of life, death, and existence, as well as mastery of those within Oblivion.
