The Truthwardens are a sub-faction of The Children of Mortis.
Purpose
The Truthwardens are the most self-disciplined of The Children. Dedicated to consolidating the truth of the Force, without the attachments of the Light and Dark, their steadfast mentality is put to the test as they avoid the emotional swaying of intel that comes from the other two sects. Analytical, precise, focused, The Truthwardens are home to the defensive forces of the Children, ready to fend off threats both external and internal.
Organization
The Truthwardens work under the oversight of The Arbiter of Balance. They are known to be comprised of three main groups, as well as a number of undeclared Novices. They are the most willful of the three sects, as they are the ones most frequently interacting as bridges between the other sects.
The Arbiter of Balance
The Arbiter of Balance is a title that has been passed down for generations to whoever is deemed level-headed and brilliant enough to lead the Truthwardens towards absolution. The current Arbiter is also known as Loremi P’sum, a human male who has been a part of The Children for decades.
Brilliant, he is often considered socially awkward by his peers, and most frequently handles social interactions via aid from his husband, Dolori s’Amet. He is one of the few leaders within The Children who reject the formal usage of their titles, insisting people just refer to him by his name.
The Aegises
The Aegises are the Children’s main defensive military forces. Led by The Bulwark, with support from The Portcullis, The Palisade, and The Rampart, the Aegises are a widespread group, having barracks on all of The Children’s main worlds. Of all of the subgroups of The Children, the Aegises are the most popular amongst the general population, due to their defense of the people, and aid given during disasters.
The Rectifiers
The Rectifiers are the Truthwardens central research group. Focused on consolidating information from the Lightbringers and Shadowseers, they strive to find a perfect balance that is the absolute truth of the Force. They also spend much time on the research and development of advanced vehicles and ships, powered by The Children’s crystals. They are led by The Rectifier, with support from The Cleanser, The Melder, and The Formshaper.
The Grayblades
The Grayblades are the secret police for the Children. Inquisitive and distrustful by nature, they are feared throughout The Children’s organization, due to their strict purging of those who seek to harm The Children from within. They are led by The Sword, with support from The Dagger, The Spear, and The Noose.
Dominion
The Truthwardens are headquartered on Lodisa, of the Lodisa system in the Mid Rim. Lodisa is a cold harsh world known for expansive tundras, beautiful aurora, and nestled mountain ranges.
Their base of operations is known as The Halls of Balance, which houses all of the Truthwardens (except for deployed Aegises), from new recruits to The Arbiter himself.
