The Rajk Opal is an artifact of Clan Scholae Palatinae. It is awarded to an outstanding member of the Clan, that holds a Journeyman rank.

Appearance

The Rajk Opal

The Rajk Opal is a multi-facetted hexagonally cut gemstone. Deep blue in color, it is roughly the size of an apple. Two of the facets are significantly larger than the others. The stone shimmers with a slight iridescent sheen. The interior of the opal has inclusions which appear to contain some unknown fluorescent mineral. These mineral inclusions create the appearance of pulsating lights, reminiscent of galaxies or stars.

Function

When possessed by a non-Force-sensitive individual the opal is merely a beautiful gem, and when possessed by a Force-sensitive provides a proportionate boost to the user's Farsight abilities greatly extending their ability to see future events by granting them visions from the World Between Worlds. It responds to a Force sensitive individual proportionally to the Force level of the individual; meaning an initiate will have an extremely mild engagement with the Opal whereas an Elder would have a fully bonded experience. The Rajk Opal has been deemed unsafe for casual use due to the risk of a user losing their mind after being exposed to these sorts of visions, and is granted by the Consul on a rotating basis to those who show great promise while rising through the ranks.

History

In 40 ABY, then Consul of Clan Scholae Palatinae, Kamjin issued an order to the Clan to search out a list of known artifacts. Many members of the Clan went on these quests and few were successful. Discovered by Archangel Palpatine on the mysterious world of Qella. The Opal was uncovered in an abandoned archaeological dig site. Records indicate this dig was from around 145 ABY. Attempts to determine more information about the Opal and the dig have been met with difficulty. Clan Scholae Palatinae has employed the resources and expertise of the Wayfinder Society, but no significant leads have been unveiled as of yet.
