The Eye of the Overlord is an item held by Clan Naga Sadow, that acts as a sign of office for the Consul of the Clan. This artifact was first brought to light by self-styled Overlord of the Orian System, Bentre Stahoes. Though it bear some similarity to the Orb of T'aluna, the capabilities of the Eye are well documented. While the T'aluna Orb was never fully researched or catalogued, experimentation has shown the eye of the Overlord has widespread ability to broadcast the thoughts of the holder, or to allow the holder to connect to the mind of an individual at up to a distance of 149,597,871 kilometers. This made the artifact very useful in situations where traditional lines of communications had broken down.

This also meant that the sitting Consul of the Clan had a way to communicate en masse to the Clan in more everyday life. The limiting factors, beyond its relative range, was actually two fold. In order to use the artifact, the connection could be forged only with those of whom had participated in a blood ritual to help bind them to the artifact itself. In this way, it is entirely possible that a member of Clan Naga Sadow could be deaf to the artifact. However, to date no known Sadowans have actively refused to be joined in this ritual. Whether this is due to genuine willingness, deceit from the Summit, or other sources of ignorance is unknown at this time.

History of the Artifacts

The first documented use of the Eye was during the Escalation conflict against the Children of Mortis in 40 ABY. It was used to coordinate the guerilla tactics of Clan Naga Sadow during the battle against the various combative assets of the Children of Mortis as they besieged Sepros and the Orian system at large.
