Cev Nabina is currently a Protector in the Primus Goluud Battleteam in House Naga Sadow.
Character History
Youth
Cev was born to Lance and Kit Nabina shortly after the Battle of Endor. Lance was an Imperial TIE Interceptor pilot in Lava Squadron, and Kit was a doctor working on Alk’lellish III. Unfortunately for both of them Lance was killed during the Bakura incident.
Cev grew up with tales of Lance’s squadron and their amazing exploits. These stories captured his imagination and it wasn’t long before he knew he also wanted to be a fighter pilot. Eventually he would live up to his dream, but many years from then.
Kit remarried when Cev was eleven years old. Rather than being a burden to Cev, his stepfather, Jefor, reaffirmed his love of star fighters. Jefor was in the Alk’lellish III Planetary Guard and he, just like Lance, was a fighter pilot. Cev and Jefor would talk nonstop about Jefor’s missions, the maintenance of all arrays of fighters, and even the political landscape of the galaxy. Jefor even let Cev accompany him to the military bases occasionally.
Adulthood
As Cev grew older his interest in star fighters continued to grow. As soon as he was old enough he joined the Planetary Guard in the same squadron as his stepfather. Together they chased away smugglers, brought down pirates, and even saved a shipment of tibanna gas from exploding.
Of course being a fighter pilot wasn’t everything to Cev. He also had an insight into the healing of others. His mother had started teaching him first aid at a young age and he found that helping others would make him feel accomplished. During one of their training sessions Cev experienced something he hadn’t before, a slight tingle in his fingers. As he focused more on the strange sensation he swore he saw an arc of electricity leave his finger for a moment. That was the first, but not only time Cev would feel the force flowing though him.
Tragedy would strike Cev twice in one night during a raid of Korino, the city where he and his parents lived and worked. Cev and Jefor were both awakened by their superiors and ordered to get to their hanger and lift off. A group known only as the Nomads had blown up a durasteel factory after raiding it for supplies. Their squadron was ordered to fly support for the cleanup and capture operations. They didn’t know but Kit was also rushed into the hospital to help triage and treat the wounded.
Cev and Jefor did not have much to do in the sky until an YT-2400 took off and headed for space. Father and son were tasked with bringing the freighter down; unfortunately for them this would be a horrible mistake. During their fly-bys they noticed that there seemed to be no one in the cockpit of the transport. Before they were able to call it in the transport started behaving erratically. Cev was able to evade the transport and flew to a safe distance, Jefor wasn’t as lucky. Jefor was able to evade the ship, but then the unexpected happened: the ship exploded. Jefor’s star fighter was caught in the explosion and practically disintegrated before Cev’s eyes. Cev was in complete shock, he had lost a father a second time. All he was able to do was simply fly in a straight line for hours after that, lost in his darkest thoughts.
During Cev’s mission his mother was at the hospital treating the wounded from the plant explosion. Everything was finally getting under control when a large explosion was heard in the distance. All the doctors and nurses looked at each other knowingly; their night was long from over. A few minutes after the explosion a group of fifteen entered the hospitals carrying blasters and pistols and started demanding medical treatment for a few of their members. When they weren’t immediately taken care of they shot two patients. By then they had the doctors’ attention and a few members of the staff were taken into the admitting room where the gangs wounded were. Among the staff was Kit and she did her best to help them even under duress and pressure. When it wasn’t enough for one of the gang with a deep chest wound the leader of the pack shot one of the doctors. He threatened to kill them all if another one of his men died.
Hours passed and luckily none of the gang had died since. Once all of the wounded were taken care of the gang gathered the doctors and nurses in the room and forced them to help load the injured into an armored ground transport. As they were doing loaded the staff noticed the mutilated hospital guards outside the facility. After they loaded all the impaired in the transport the Nomad commander choose a few of the staff to take with them, Kit among them. He shot the rest. The medical experts were loaded in and the transport sped away.
Cev finally came out of his daze and landed his star fighter. He was soon assaulted by his commanding officer and was told about the tragedy at the hospital. Cev simply could not take the news, he screamed at the top of his lungs, his body started shaking and his commanding officer was thrown 10 feet back. Afterwards Cev passed out.
Years later Cev would find the Nomads, he would avenge his father, but things would never be the same. Cev would no longer feel joy at helping people, his only joy would come from their pain. He tried many times to harness the power inside him but there were no results worth mentioning. One day he was asked to “join an organization that would change his life forever.” The next step of his journey starts with them.
