The Army of the Taldryan Republic’s primary mission is to be a ground combat force par excellence, providing capability to the Republic in a variety of theaters and scenarios. The Special Activities Group is a detached unit meant to address missions outside of the parameters of ordinary Army training and expertise. Focusing on small teams and individual operators SAG is tasked with carrying out Black Missions in support of Army and Republic strategic goals. Each Operator is expected to be able to take care of themselves, their team, and the mission in any given scenario without overt support or acknowledgement from the Taldryan Republic.

Command Team

  • Commander: Brigadier General Harnold Ampis
  • Executive Officer: Colonel Vin Coalson
  • Personnel S1 OIC: Captain Carlee Jin-Derhop
  • Intelligence S2 OIC: Major Brace Richord
  • Operations and Training S3 OIC: Captain Breen Salso
  • Logistics S4 OIC: Captain Merk Nils
  • Communications S6 OIC: Major Dac Mordin

Selection & Training

SAG Operators are selected from the regular Army through a variety of evaluations, both covert and overt, as well as direct commissions of particularly skilled individuals outside of that Chain of Command. Operators are cross trained to perform in teams of two or four, as well as alone and unsupported, across a number of competencies and fields of expertise. They are chosen for their fitness, mental and physical resiliency, their loyalty and dedication to the Republic and its goals, as well as adaptability and trainability. Whether selected from the Army, other branches of the Republic’s Armed Forces, or direct commission all Operators are placed through a demanding 24 month training program that seeks to instill a variety of skills and knowledge in each trainee. After initial training is completed Operators are assigned to a team of four for their first few missions, before any solo taskings are undertaken.

Mission Capabilities

A-SAG maintains access to Army-issue weapons and vehicles, but also uses its extensive budget to obtain non-standard equipment and modifications on behalf of its Operators according to their needs. Operators, while trained to cover a wide range of common skills in common with their peers, are encouraged to specialize their skill sets, and kits to match. Because the mission profile of SAG is so broad, gear is meant to enhance Operator ability to achieve the mission no matter the specifics. As such A-SAG can task teams and individuals with missions ranging from assassination and sabotage, to espionage and VIP protection.
