Addyn'nephs is a shadow broker who exchanges cruel secrets, information, lives, and livelihoods, all for his own gain. With little interest in the common good of man or machine, his sole interest is advancing his schemes and interests as he seeks to undermine the Ascendancy and family that outcast him from his youth. Despite his self-serving nature, he has bound himself to a strict moral code as a measure to prove his value above the Ascendancy, who cast aside many and deny their very existence. His every action is based on the persistence of the truth, erring against lying and creating a web of lies from which he could be coerced or caught in his actions. Addyn faces his actions with either conviction or obfuscation. His clients come to know the truth of the deal they've brokered, but never the depths of the terms.
Physical Description
Midnight-skinned with center-parted mid-length white hair framing deep-set crimson eyes and a lithe build. Broad shoulders and sharp pointed features define his silhouette, with a singular scar marring his otherwise clear flesh, a wide and crudely stitched slice across the side of his throat.

Severin and Cœur Xand:
Twins whose life-contracts Addyn'nephs purchased in exchange for the debts of a bookie in a remote system. After their sentence was transferred into Addyn's care, he removed them from the system, removing Severin from the gladiatorial pits and combatant lifestyle entirely, fulfilling the young man's desire to attain higher education and provide for his younger sister. Addyn utilized Severin's drive and connections within Selen's elite to have the boy connected to the Arconans who ruled their society, where he would later become connected to The Brotherhood and join the Shadow Academy.
The pair were initially unaware of their status, believing they had been freed of their sentence, while maintaining close ties to Addyn. Cœur has since come to learn the truth of their contracts, and chose to preserve the secret for her brother's well-being and worldly perception, but also for the continued favoritism the pair received from Addyn.

The former director of the Dajorran Marshals, later War Councilor of the O.U.S.C., Wulfram was the first detective to hound Addyn'nephs to one of his nests and begin unravelling his information network. The pair have a continual grudge, both acting to undermine the other, while at times requiring the protections the other can provide to escape the consequences of their hunt for the other. Their conflict has become a symbiosis; if either were to fall in pursuit of the other, both would collapse in the effort.
