History

Origins

The Tanduran and Dac Unified Commandos orginated on New Tython prior to the invasion of the Dark Jedi. They were at first a ragtag group of humans and Mon Calamarians. These were Tythonians that had some military experience. The were loosely organized, poorly equipped, and rarely trained. The commander at the time did not fell the need for training as there was not real thought of a threat. He would walk around Menat Ombo in his uniform like a peacock. During the initial attack of the Dark Jedi he was killed. It just so happens the when the Dark Jedi attacked, Alexander was in the Market. At the time of the attack he ran into two former members of the GADF a Human ,Eric Norgn, who was a Sniper/Scout and Mon Calamarian ,Sisus, who was a Command Master Chief. Some other humans and Mon Calamaria who were friends of the other two. The action that was seen by the Tanduran Dac Unified Commandos was minimal in the grand scope of the invasion. After the action the need for a standing Special Operations unit was seen. Since the Plank owners of the new TDUC were Humans from Tanduran and Mon Calamari from Dac it was desided that they would draw vonunteers from there. All the volunteers had prior military service of some kind. The training was tough, and it was desided that all members would be able to funtion in any enviorment. The Ducks, as they called them selves, are two separate forces. They have Rangers that are divided into different Platoons based on the Special training they received. The second force are heavy troops. During the clean-up after the invasion, a crashed transport was found. It dated back to about 20 BBY and had a cargo of E11 blaster rifles, T-21 Light repeating blasters, Camo Scout armor, and Vibro Blades. These were given to the Rangers to outfit them.

Rangers

The Rangers are light and medium armored forces, that operate in varying terrain. They are normally used for hit and fade attacks, Intel gathering, and guerrilla fighting. They are separated into platoons, based on training.

First Platoon

The First Platoon is trained to operate in wooded environments. They train in in heavy forest, light forest, and rain forest. They could also operate on the open plains. The equipment that is used is for more of a standard forest. The Members of First platoon are a mix of Human and Mon Calamari

Second Platoon

Second Platoon is trained to operate in and around water. They are trained for Navel (water) commandeering. They also train for operation in rivers and swamps. Second Platoon takes great pride in the fact that They are the only Platoon that operates in water. Second Platoon is exclusively Mon Calamarian due to there physiology.

Third Platoon

Third Platoon is trained to operate in the barrens and deserts. They also are the only unit that trains in the Tundra. They operate in extreme hot and cold environments, usually in the same day. The Dusty Ducks, as they call them selves , seem to relish the barren terrain they operate in. Due to the physiology of Mon Calamarians, the unit is exclusively Human. Even the support personal are Human.

Fourth Platoon

Fourth Platoon is another unit trained to operate in a very specific area. They are trained to operate in urban warfare. They are trained to not only operate conventionally, but non conventionally. They are the only platoon that operates in civilian clothing. They excel at CQC, intelligence gathering, and Hostage Rescue. When there is a time when local authorities have someone taken hostage, Fourth Platoon is called. The Platoon is a mix of both Human and Mon Calamarian.

Assault Troops

The Tanduran and Dac Unified Commandos Assault Troops are different then the Rangers. They use Powered Armored, and Heavy weapons. They are Trained to work in Three teams of Three with a NCO commander. They can be deployed as 12 separate groups, working independently of each other. Or as a larger unit for an Assault. Most of the armor weapons was scavenged from after the invasion. They have done the best to be cohesive, but not all the armor matches yet. The Tanduran and Dac Unified Commandos first order of business to the outfit the Assault Troops in the same gear. The troops are a mix of Human and Mon Calamari.

Arrival of Odan-Urr

The arrival of the Jedi begins the history of the TDUC. Shortly after the formal formation of a government, a miltia was formed. The command and forming of the TDCU fell to a formor member of the GADF. The problem was he was more of a politician then a combat commander. Under the inital leadership the TDUC was nothing more then a show of force, and no real force at all. It was not till after the invasion, that the TDUC was truly what it should have been. If the Jedi had never arrived, and built the Temple, the TDUC would never have been formed.

• Biography:

Shar'Nin was born on New Tython. He was the oldest son of a farmer, and figured that is what he would do. He spent a lot of time in the woods and forest growing up. He loved to go hunting and camping, and just spend time in the woods. His father always knew that his son would not be a farmer. Even though the he was the oldest, his father taught his younger brother all about farming. It was no shock that when the Dark Jedi attacked, he fought hard. Even though he was not in the Militia at the start of the war. He was used as a guide based on his knowlege of the forest of the planet. When the truce was singed, he was given a commision in the Kotahitanga-Unity Defense Force, and placed in command of First platoon.

• Biography:

Born on the the home planet. He spent time in the Republic Navy, as a Navigator. During the Yuuzhan Vong invasion, his ship crashed on a planet. During the time on the planet, he fought the Yuuzhan Vong and found that he was a natural leader. While leading the survivors on the planet. He moved to New Tython with Sisus the other Mon Calamari. He joined the Tanduran and Dac Unified Commandos at inception. From that time he was outspoken about the readiness prior to the invasion. Since then he has been instrumental in the training, and formation of the TDUC.

Markus Sty

• Biography:

Born on Tatooine Markus is used to hot and very hot. He spent most of his time doing what everyone does on Tatooine, surviving. He worked on moister farms, in cantina's, and for the occasional crime lord. Markus was working as muscle for a crime lord when he learned of New Tython. Seeing a chance to start fresh, and make a honest living. So Markus jumped at the chance. During the invasion he aided the Kotahitanga-Unity Defense Force any way he could. After the treaty, he helped with the training and outfitting of Third platoon. With that he was given the command of Third platoon. Markus it the only member of TDUC that had no prior military experience.

Jenna Tas

• Biography:

Jenna was born on Coruscant to a low level diplomat. She spent time in the Coruscant Security Force. Later she worked for a couple different Mercenary units. She was enroute to New Tython when the invasion force landed on New Tython. She was part of a Mercenary unit that was hired by by a wealthy New Tythonianto help defend. By the time the unit landed, the Treaty had been sighned. She took her pay and desided that she would help rebuild the planet. Shortly after hearing of the Tanduran and Dac Unity Cammandos she applied. With her experiances with urban combat on Coruscant, she was placed in command of the Fourth Platoon.

James Centon

James was born to a working class family. When he was 3 his family was killed, and he was sent to an orphanage. He had a troubled childhood, and got into lots of trouble. When he was old enough he joined the Republic Army. He spent all his time in the Infantry. During the Yuuzhan Vong invasion he distinguished himself and was given a field commission. During his command of a Infantry Platoon, he learned a lot about commanding heavily armored troops. After he left the military, bounced around the galaxy ending up on New Tython. After the invasion he realized that his new home needed him and started fighting. After the truce, he was given command of the Assult Troopers of the Tanduran and Dac Unified Commandos.
