The purpose of this role will remain the same. The most active member a month will be named House Champion for that month (i.e Zaxen being our first February House Champion). The House Champion because the Dark Librarian for the next both; fictionally he or she gains access to the untold knowledge stored in the Dark Library, while non-fictionally this person is allowed to House Summit meetings to bring his or her ideas and short-term project (something that can be done within two weeks) to the House. I'm thinking of adding a DL section to my reports for them to insert their ideas/project/thoughts to the House as a weekly things (this would be optional).
Just before the end of each month, the House Summit will get together with the Battleteam Leaders and select the most active member to become House Champion for that month; candidates are based on activity, participation in competitions on a BT/House/Clan/DB scale, and general House involvement. Also, as an optional choice, the Dark Librarian can insert a mini-report into Quaestor's weekly reports to inform the House of any ideas/project/thoughts; this allows the Dark Librarian to get a feel of writing reports for a future leadership position within the Dark Jedi Brotherhood.

Disciples of Ragnos Mission Statement

House Champion/Dark Librarian

Just before the end of each month, the House Summit will get together with the Battleteam Leaders and select the most active member to become House Champion for that month; candidates are based on activity, participation in competitions on a BT/House/Clan/DB scale, and general House involvement. The House Champion becomes the Dark Librarian for the next both; fictionally he or she gains access to the untold knowledge stored in the Dark Library, while non-fictionally this person is allowed to House Summit meetings to bring his or her ideas and short-term project (something that can be done within two weeks) to the House.

Scions and Progeny

This is something we can use to reward House-related accomplishments (thank you Raven for the idea). Progeny can refer to an academic progeny (a student), which can refer to a member developing there own skills say within the Shadow Academy by getting Maven's and/or demonstrating leadership abilities; anything that relates to themselves growing. I think a set of requirements would be an interesting way for members to challenge themselves to grow. The fictional benefit of being a Progeny has yet to be written, but there is the beauty of it; that is something for us to develop as a House.

Scions can be more House related than personal; like a member doing outstandingly well in a GJW, or a Journeyman finally making it to DJK, anything that can be considered a House-related accomplishment. Again, the fictional side of this has yet to be developed, but Scions would be the elite of the Disciples of Ragnos.

Three Paths of the Disciples

Since this is the most fictional part of the DoR, it may be an idea to drop the point system idea and just focus on fiction and run-ons only. This would allow members to expand out as they explore the Three Paths. A member can explore the Disciples of Ragnos through writing, anything from one page to ten, depending on the person mind you. The idea here is to just explore your character, the main focus being character development rather than spelling or grammar; members would get to explore their character as their status rises among the Disciples. How would one advance through the Three Paths? A set of requirements would be needed, but this is for the House Summit so we can reward a member and advance their status within the Disciples of Ragnos

Everything mentioned doesn't change much what has already been established with DoR on the wikipages, if anything it would fill up the stuff we haven't done. In the end everything mentioned has the following affect:

  • House Champion/Dark Librarian allows a member to try out short-term projects (which means projects that dont take long to set up) and to voice his/her ideas (along with any members ideas who would rather go through them instead of coming directly to the House Summit)
  • Progeny allows members personal accomplishments to be displayed, allowing a member to grow as an individual and reward that by letting them have a fictional impact within House canon... the fictional aspect of Progeny has yet to be developed, which means all and any ideas on what they do within the Disciples of Ragnos is open for development.
  • Scion allows members House-related accomplishments to be displayed, a Scion is higher than a Progeny, which means it would replace it. Again, the fictional aspect has yet to be fully developed, but they are the elite of the Disciples of Ragnos. Their impact in House canon would rival the Council members (at least that is my idea)
  • The Three Paths of the Disciples would be the House fictional device for character development... allowing members to develop and evolve their characters through fiction and run-ons. The idea is to allow people who aren't good writers to generally have fun to explore their character. This would mainly be for members who want to develop their characters in House canon. So far only one Path has been development.

So what does this allow a member to focus on within House Marka Ragnos:

Leadership: Accountability, Interaction, Development, aka L.A.I.D. A chance for one member
to experience House Summit type role having earned it by becoming House Champion
Encourage and promote member development by becoming a Progeny; this allows personal growth
to be acknowledged and provide a fictional impact to House canon.
Encourage and promote House development by becoming a Scion; this allows members to see that
their participating in GJW, advancement, developing a House (fictionally and non-
fictionally) has its rewards and benefits, allowing a Scion to stand out as a exceptional
member of his or her House; which would be displayed through House canon.
Encourage and promote character development on a House-wide scale; this is done through
fictional aspects of the Dark Librarian, Scions and Progeny... but also with the Three Paths
allowing all members to keep pushing forward

Pre-Mission Statement

You'll need to drop the Son/Daughter of Ragnos portion, Clan's are allowed to only have one such Clan name, House's are not allowed to have them. --Tron 13:04, 24 January 2008 (MST)

Well... I havent had a chance to write everything up, however the Son/Daughter of Ragnos is not a House name. It is completely unofficial and holds no power what so ever; the general theme of this is to award one member a month for being the most active member of the House. Example - Lets say at the end of April the House Summit (with the Battleteam Leaders) come together and name ACO Joe April 2008 House Champion, what happens then is ACO Joe also becomes Son of Ragnos (May 2008). But at the end of May, when that month's House Champion is selected to be, lets say, Daughter of Ragnos (June 2008). So it is not really a House name, its a reward for a month...similar to the whole Progidy of Plagueis that Clan Plagueis used to use, only on a House level. That is also why those in House leadership positions also have the unofficial title, so it is really just a come and go thing. I did talk to Trev and he did OK it everyone was aware it is not like the whole Sons of Sadow, and in my reports too it is also mention of being completely unofficial...fictional wise, which I have had yet to write up (cause I wanted input from Trev), the Sons of Ragnos are basiclly the governing council for the Disciples of Ragnos mentioned in the History Up To The Formation Of The House in House Marka Ragnos. I am not as versed in CNS history as you are, I am just to develop things fictional, as well as give one lucky person to stand out in the House once a month. I appologize, I probably should have written this up completely, but I was out down the pub have a couple of pints on getting my dipolma and didnt have time to add everything I wanted to do for today. So does this clear things up a bit? -Ashura 21:57, 24 January (GMT)

Ashura pokes the Talk page. "So...Tron, it's been almost a day...I take it this issue has been cleared?" o.O? -Ashura 19:30, 25 January (GMT)

Well, to avoid any confusion or confrontation with other Clans over this, I would just call them Disciples of Ragnos instead of Son or Daughter then. If you want a definite anwswer we'll have to consult the MAA since he has oversight over clan names and such - I realize it's an award and not an actual title but others could start a needless fight over it and it's always better to shy away from a headache if you can. Just my thoughts on the matter - I really have no say over it one way or the other but as others see it they'll want to do the same with their houses and eventually fight for it to be official.

I just like to look ahead at what can be or could be in regards to potential upsets. --Tron 19:14, 25 January 2008 (MST)

Good point, I'll go change it, I think the last thing anyone needs is a headache over this. Thanks for the clarification. -Ashura 16:56, 26 January (GMT)
