The Secret Intelligence Division (SIS) is Taldryan's primary foreign intelligence service. These agents and operatives are responsible for monitoring threats, and information sources throughout the galaxy and the Brotherhood, and maintaining a close eye on any new developments. Home to three Branches, two of them are focused on espionage within the Brotherhood, and then the galaxy at large. The final Branch, Cipher, is the most enigmatic, and famous of Taldryan's Intelligence Directorate. The Secret Intelligence Division is commanded by Roth Edo.

Mission

The SIS Division is the vibroblade to the Taldryan Navy and Army’s concussion rifle. They are at the leading edge of all offensive maneuvers, and in many cases solve any “issues” Taldryan may have before they become a larger problem. Within SIS the line between Analysis and Operations become blurred, with Agents trained fully in both aspects. As such, SIS is organized based on locational-focus. The two Branches are the Brotherhood Intelligence Service and Galactic Intelligence Service. Within these Branches are Cells, with Agents knowing only about other Agents within their specific Cells. Agents operating within a Cell are generally located outside of Taldryan space and within the location that they are monitoring, either as part of the Taldryan diplomatic mission in that sector or posing as civilians.

There is one last section of SIS called Cipher Branch. There is no accessible information on Cipher other than that held by a select few. Agents of Cipher report directly to the Director of SIS and are known only by their designation in the few official communiques that mention them. They operate independently of direct support, and all of their missions will be completely disavowed should they become public knowledge.

Command Structure

Secret Intelligence is commanded by Director Roth Edo. An Epicanthix male, much of Roth Edo’s past is a complete mystery. He was brought into the Directorate by Nils Anan, but ended up participating in a number of operations on foreign soil. He has had a long history of working behind enemy lines for Taldryan, and can almost be considered the first Cipher agent. His tremendous experience with field work helps keep the SIS running efficiently without stirring up trouble with the rest of the galaxy. He is also known to still go on an Operation or two.

While Brotherhood and Galactic Intelligence Services are commanded in turn by their own Branch Directors, Cipher Branch is an oddity in the Taldryan Intelligence Directorate. As none of their missions fall into the realm of officially recognized, they report directly to Roth Edo, and nobody else.

Sub Divisions

A SIS Agent in Infiltration Gear
A Cipher Agent carrying out an Assassination Mission

Brotherhood Intelligence Service Branch

The Branch with the largest Agent mortality rate in the entire Directorate, these Cells focus on the various Clans and Houses of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. Agents are generally placed within the various Taldryan diplomatic offices, although many have also infiltrated the general populace and even certain military branches. Much of the SIS’ energy is funneled into ensuring the other units of the Brotherhood are kept in line and away from Taldryan.

Currently Active Cells

Galactic Intelligence Service Branch

Although not as dangerous as the Brotherhood Branch, the Galactic Branch may be the second most dangerous Branch in the Directorate as they deal with the galaxy-at-large. Cells are constantly evolving and changing as Taldryan’s focus changes to meet the demands of everything outside their space.

At best they are a rumour. Agents culled from the very best that Taldryan has to offer. Their missions come directly from the Director of SIS. They speak only to the Director. They are only designations. They are sent only on the toughest of missions, with most deemed impossible to accomplish. They have no back-up in the field. Should they fail, no one will acknowledge their existence. A successful mission ensures Taldryan’s survival for another day.

Agents of Cipher are chosen, with less than a dozen active at any one time. They are trained in every manner possible; from special forces training to the art of seduction and everything in between. They are the pinnacle of Taldryan, but they also do not work well with others. They are individuals, and operate as such, although do work with the force users of Taldryan. Only a select few can match a name to a number. For outsiders these individuals are private citizens. Only the Director of SIS can call upon their services when they are required.
