After his father had been killed, Elols swore revenge. He found the man that had killed his father and challenged him to a duel. As they fought, Elols nearly lost his left hand, but killed the bounty hunter swiftly as he missed. As this happened, no one wanted anything to do with him until Elols met a Dark Jedi Knight. He told Elols to come with him and he could experience true power. As Elols agreed, he found himself being brought to the brotherhood.
