The Stormcloud is a Mandal Motors Kom'rk-class fighter owned by the Mirialan Rian Taldrya that he bought after the loss of his former starship during the sacking of Karufr.

Stormcloud

Description

The Stormcloud is a modified Kom'rk-class fighter/transport originally made by the Mandal Motors. It was ordered by Rian Taldrya with several customizations, including but not limited to a custom paintjob in honor of the former Taldryan Clan flagship Justice. The fighter featured a set of forward-facing laser cannons, and two laser cannon located above and beneath the rear docking ring.

It is equipped with both a rear docking ring and a boarding ramp as well as with a ventral troop bay usual seen on Kom'rk-class fighters. The Stormcloud sports a two level layout on the inside with the four seated cockpit leading up the front end of the upper level. Behind the cockpit a common area is placed, with a holo-communicator and a computer terminal to access the galactic networks, that leads to the rear compartment where the ships docking ring and the captain's cabin are located. On the lower levelare the crew compartment and engine room as well as the vessels crew lounge.

Stormcloud Deckplan

Serving the Taldrya as an able transport, the Stormcloud with its two sets of rear engines has little problems to live up with the second aspect of its classification: fighter. The turbojets that are designed for rapid engine start-ups and wings that could rotate around the fighter's main body, allowing for increased maneuverability paired with its decent firepower makes it an effective assault craft.

Part of the modifications orderd by Rian where the addition of two advanced technology packages, first is an advanced droid brain that enables Rian Taldrya to focus on non-piloting tasks. The droidbrain is capable to pilot the Stormcloud at a predetermined speed and trajectory and through hyperspace, stopping only to avoid collisions with detected objects while alerting Rian Taldrya.

The second is a powerful stealthing device that can render the Stormcloud nearly invisible to all but the naked eye. Combininb a specialized coating on the hull and special hardened electronics make the fighter incredibly hard to detect with standard starship sensors.
