Template:Ship (individual)The Nebula-class Star Destroyer Preeminence is part of the Ascendant Fleet of Clan Plagueis, serving as the command ship for House Karness Muur.
Characteristics
The Nebula-class marks a significant advancement in design for Star Destroyers. Despite only being about sixty-five percent of the size of an Imperial-class, it was designed to handle an Imperial-II. The vessel is a match for another Star Destroyer, two heavy cruisers, or an entire line of smaller ships as a stock model.
The ship's armament is considerable, consisting of forty turbolaser and dual turbolaser turrets each. It bears twenty ion cannon batteries for disabling enemy shields and systems, while also holding eight tubes for assault concussion missiles. Each such tube holds thirty individual missiles. The ship is equipped with eight tractor beam projectors, allowing it to ensnare smaller ships for boarding. Its most impressive weapons are four long-range turbolasers; these experimental weapon systems give the Ascendancy stand off attack capabilities that most ships lack.
History
Role
The Preeminence serves as one of the primary naval assets of Plagueis. Its firepower is considerable, but it is also quite versatile; this is bolstered by the added weaponry and equipment. As such, the ship plays the role of a nexus when engaged in combat. In addition, the Preeminence embarks a small ground force of battle droids. The droids are specially trained in boarding actions, serving to defend the vessel from any possible incursion. During planetary assault missions under the authority of House Karness Muur, the Preeminence is tasked with the transport and deployment of elements of Army Force Wampa, the House's assigned ground unit.

Ground Forces
During normal operations, the only troops carried on board the Preeminence are a unit of battle droids. These are specially programmed to excel in the role of fleet marines, and also require little support in the form of resources or facilities when they are inactive. The battle droids carried by the Preeminence are also linked via a command signal directly into the central computer, giving them highly optimized performance while they are on board.
During ground assault operations, however, additional troops and equipment drawn from the House's ground force command, Army Force Wampa, can be embarked.
