In order to meet the demands of the Grand Master for a flexible and mobile force able to conduct operations throughout the galaxy, the Army and Navy of the Iron Throne were organized under the command of Joint Task Force Rancor. Together, the ground and naval forces of the Iron Throne gave the Brotherhood the ability to survive its exile and eventually regain what had been lost.

History

Formed in 27 ABY, JTF Rancor was the overseeing command authority for both the Eighth Fleet and 13th Starborne Division. Joint command fell under the direct authority of the Iron Throne and Dark Council with the aid of full-time military commanders tasked to plan, coordinate and execute missions on land or in space in accordance with the policies of the Brotherhood.
